Yeah same story here. I got offered $39,000 for a 2019 off-road I payed $35,000 new. Traded it for a 2022 off road for $800 difference. I’ve been offered $43,500 for the 2022 and have been thinking about getting a new pro or a higher spec off road.

I just bought a new OR for MSRP for 38.5k (42k after tax, title, fees BS) so they are out there for sure. Just a bit hard to find. Especially in a manual.

I mean mine only had 9,100 miles, but in today’s market with a manual you should be able to get that aslong as you have less than 20k miles.

Tech package. Got the blind spot and adaptive cruise and crash mitigation, no heated seats or wheel, and not leather. Had the mudflaps and blackout package as well.

I don’t think that would have been with tech or premium package. Probably a DCSB auto 4wd with like floor mats and some other smaller option.

either get the lower mileage one or get a new truck with a lower trim for a few grand more.

I don’t think the prices are going to go down, I doubt you will see the dealerships with hundreds of new cars on their lots.

Hey there now - us "older folks" tend to do our research well -thank you. I think there are an equal amount of younger generation people who tend to spend with "wild abandon" Remember who started this thread!

Well after looking into it I’m it I think I’m going to put an order in for a new 2021 SR5 with 6ft bed. I really wanted a tan Tacoma but just doesn’t seem reasonable right now especially for the price of a new one to how the used market it. Thanks for all the input doods. 6EFCD4D5-0FAF-45AC-A438-2521B5D50BD8.jpg

2022 you mean. 2021s aren’t available for being purchased anymore. I don’t know why Toyota still lists them on their website.

Definitely a big NO to the no-no-no on that model year for either. I'm an old guy and when I started looking to buy my first Toyota last July, I realized after looking at 2 dealers that buying new was the best move once I saw used trucks with "asking" prices set above MSRP of better equipped new rigs.

I'm buying a new RAV4 and the same BS applies. One thing I'm noticing is the dealers have stock of new TRD's compared to what it was like just back in July.

I'm not sure about trucks but I suspect the same, there are actually '21's rolling into inventories. I was just offered a '21 RAV4 XSE Hybrid that was just delivered to the dealer. Reason being is there are still vehicles being manufactured that were on '21 allocations so they're hitting the lots.

Pretty confident you cannot get a 21 Tacoma new anymore unless it’s been sitting for a few months. Toyota usually stops producing the previous model year (for Tacoma’s) in late October, early November. Usually the last of a model year delivered to dealerships seems to be mid January.

maybe the RAV4 still hasn’t sold is due to markups. I’ve heard of some dealerships not being able to mov vehicles with mark ups very quickly.
