I have a first gen 2wd tacoma, and I'd like to build it to be high speed off road. I usually slam my trucks but want to do something different from my usual thing, I'm wondering what my options are. I know the ultimate option of long travel, but it's a bit to expensive and I'd like to be able to semi daily the truck. What are my other options, or are there cheaper, lower maintenance options for long travel, even if it performs worse. I can weld and can do fabrication work so that's not a big issue if required.

Mid travel and spring under axle swap is a good start, if that's still too expensive get really good bump stops and lower your expectations on how you define "high speed"... :notsure:

King suspension is known for their Baja experience, I would look at their line of products. The more bypasses and larger the external res, the better. You'll be creating a lot of heat in that fluid, so more ability to cool it off will make your suspension handle amazing all day.
