Oh no!!

I have a 2015 Tacoma double cab. So last night I replaced the motor in the actuator for the passenger door. I was so proud that I did it myself too. Well I tested the lock with the door opened and it worked, great. Then I put the panel back on and closed the door. Well now it won’t open from inside or outside. I read on here some tricks but I can’t find anything for a 2015. I did call a locksmith and the young kid said he didn’t know what to do since the door is unlocked. He didn’t try anything. So, any thoughts on how I can get the panel off? Thank you.

One of the cables is most likely crossed or pinched, you might be able to pop the window switch plate out take the screw out of the door handle pocket and reach in there with some 90° needle nose and pull the cables manually to release.

 

This may be a stupid question, how do I pop the window switch plate?

 

I believe the arm rest peice that holds the switches can be removed with a trim removal tool.

I was able to get the handle out and noticed the green cable wasn’t snapped into place. I snapped it but it still won’t open. I guess the metal rod isn’t connected. Can some post a picture of how it is supposed to fit in the actuator? I can’t find a decent picture. I am trying to locate the push thing on the actuator and pray that opens the door. This is a time I wish I had a friend who can help me this stuff.

 

There must be someone on here in East Tennessee that can lend a hand.

 

You can always pop the drivers side panel off and compare. I know the metal rod snaps in.
