Fuel Gauge Problem

    Filled my truck up yesterday. Have drove roughly 95 miles on the tank so far. This morning when I started my truck my fuel gauge lever (or whatever term ya wanna use) was all the way past E. As I started driving it started to creep up to roughly half a tank, which still seems off. Any ideas guys?

    I have the same problem. I filled up yesterday, hopped on the interstate, and within 10 to 15 miles my gauge was showing below E. It seems like when I need to accelerate quickly, the needle will flutter and slowly drop regardless of the amount of gas in the tank. When I shut off the truck and let it sit a while, the needle will return to the proper level. My guess is the fuel pump is slowly giving out, but I'm not sure about that.

    It's either a bad sending unit or faulty ground.

    Do yall have any pics or anything of where the ground and sending unit are at? My truck did this once and I wouldnt mind looking at it to make sure its clean and stuff. Hasnt done it since though..

    let me know if you figure it out too please.....my gauge has been faulty for years, and I would like to fix it if its not too involved.......it seems to be getting worse...

    just to be more descriptive..... my gas gauge is erratic.....when its real 100 full it will show full.....or when super low it will show empty.....but anything in between its all over the place......its very annoying..

    The ground will be on top of the tank and the sending unit is in the tank. Sorry, just saw this post today.

    800 lbs of bumper front and back. Deaver springs back w/Bilstein shocks and Donahoe's up front. E-locker mod and driving lights front and rear.
    Does anyone know if this is the sender unit or a ground wire that resolve the crazy gauge fluctuation? Just wondering what I should look at first?
