Very strange that you ask me that… a few weeks after install, my traction control, ABS, blind spot, and collision detection systems all read malfunction. It happened all at once, a few different times in one day. I took it into the dealer and they couldn’t find anything wrong. Never had any issues before or since.

Sounds like you know something that I don’t. Please teach me!

The front sensor is no longer aimed properly now that you lifted the truck - it needs to be recalibrated. The dealership should have told you that - but some seem reluctant to touch it once you lift the truck.

    The colonel nailed it above.
The only reason I know anything about it is because of this thread. I’ve been thinking about the TRD lift. It comes with the heritage grill and a new sensor that mounts to the grill. This lift raises the front 2” and the rear only 1”. I’ve wondered if all this is necessary for such a minor mod but Toyota says it is- they designed the lift. Recalibration sounds a lot less drastic.

Thank you both for the info! When/if it happens again, I’ll take it to the dealership and get them to recalibrate it.

I had the same issue. sensor was canted up almost 1/4 inch. I added a stack of washers to the bottom of the sensor, essentially aiming it back down. Worked like a charm and has been flawless ever since.

I took advantage of the weather the other day and installed my Greenlane Off-road sliders.

Decided to better color match the truck with some new bedside decals. Going to get bronze vinyl covers for the grill letters too. Also added the TRD skid plate. My dad's neighbors Army Green Offroad in the second pic.

Those decals look solid with the wheels.

Army Green is a sexy color and was my first choice for my Trail Edition. Unfortunately I couldn't find any dealer that had an allocation for one but at least the only one I did find was in Lunar Rock, my close second favorite color

I could flip a coin between Army and Lunar and call it a win either way.

Yeah I mean I'm definitely not upset about mine being Lunar Rock lol. Gun to my head I'd pick Army Green, but it's not an easy decision

Yeah, definitely a win either way. The only reason I’m getting mgm is because neither AG or LR are available on the Sr5. I would actually have to flip a coin to decide.

Couldn't you tilt the sensor yourself by adding washers and maybe some wedges of some sort ?

Could you? Probably. But if there's any issues toyota will likely not cover it if you modified it

But removing it from an existing grille and putting it on a fake trd pro grille, isnt that considered modifying it ?

Honestly I think either way toyota won't cover it if there's an issue unless you buy the pro grill from toyota. Dealers are great at finding ways to screw you Toyota. I'm not saying don't do it, I'm just saying keep that in mind

    Just the basics
Here's one at Huntington Beach Toyota if anyone is interested. It has the bronze wheels from the Trail Edition.
