Many of us, me included, have complained about fingernail scratches on the inside panels of our Tacos. Seems like the plastic is so soft that a brush of your fingernail scratches it.

Has anyone thought of putting Ceramic Coating on the panel to hide/prevent scratches?

    How about clear bra material?

The scratches drive me nuts as the rest of the truck is perfect!

I’ve used it on exterior faded plastic panels with success in bringing back the color, and it lasts better than other products. Interested to see what happens with interior. Experiment and let us know.

I prefer the used look of scratches more than some polished, smell good, pretty city truck. FYI, when you use something you can tend to see it's been used. Thats the case with alot of things in this world. Crazy!

I use CarPro PERL. Works really well on any plastics. It also works really well on tires too. It makes the tires blacker, but doesn't make them shiny. Well, it can make it shiny. It just depends on how many coats you put on. One coat makes your tires super black and super easy to clean the mud and dirt off of them.

In a few years when mine are all scratched up, I will be wrapping them all in vinyl (not sticker vinyl, seat vinyl)

Door panel scratches. Just junk. Several threads on this topic, so it's a known issue that the door panels scratch if you actually drive your truck more than 5 miles a week. So many on these threads defend this... saying ... "it's a truck" ... Why would any owner of a new Tacoma want scratched-up door panels, regardless of how they use the truck? Bottom line, poor design, cheap material, pure crap. Toyota -- you can do better.

OP must be a bit younger. When you get to be my age, you just quit worrying about shit like this! Not faulting anyone for wanting to keep their ride looking showroom new, but I personally don't waste my time on stuff like that anymore.

    Wax-on, Wax-off brother! :)

All i can say whatever the same company that did the ceramic coating on the exterior of the truck did the interior with something else that doesn't prevent scuffs, and scratches like their exterior treatment. I still get scuffs, but with some elbow grease you can rub most out well enough. The only thing good about this is the interior has a lifetime warranty from them against this stuff.

Some people feel the need to comment on everything even if they have nothing relevant to add, or post a contrarian viewpoint to simply feel "superior" to whatever the OP wants.

To the OP, keep updating the thread if you find something that works. I've taken the kid glove approach and still haven't found a way to solve what's there, just trying like crazy to minimize what I add.

Interior coatings will not stop scratches. Just as paint ceramic coatings will NOT stop scratches. Just use some things like carpro PERL or other kind of interior dressing and will likely fill the light marring on the plastic and won’t notice it. If someone tells you a coating stop scratches. Ignore any advice they give you.

I've seen some people have mixed success refreshing their unpainted fender flares by hitting them with a heat gun.

If the scratches ever bother me enough, I may try something similar on the interior panels.

Agree. Realistic expectations. Coatings will not prevent scratches.

They sell gloves at the dollar store. Home Depot also sells disposable shoe covers.
