I didn't want to use wood because it might be too close to the fire. The speaker is wood but I thought the metal shelf would protect it.

Photos of the fire place mantle?
If the shelf is 5-s ft from the put, i cant imagine a bonfire large enough.

It's a gas fireplace so the flames aren't going to reach the shelf but the manual with the fireplace says not to put any combustible material closer than the mantel currently is.

Can the speaker not just sit on the mantel?

Unfortunately it is too tall to fit under the TV.

Maybe I'll just buy some angle and put it together with some rivets. No bending, and I think it'll still look good. Just going to cost more.

I don't want to screw into the speaker, and I want the metal to act as a bit of a heat shield. The fireplace manual says not to put anything combustible too close.

Went snow wheeling on the roads here tonight, lots of good drifting in the open areas. Good fun,,,,After about a half an hour I noticed my truck losing power,,,,ended up with a new type of cold lack of air intake

Another reason for a dorkle, you would have seen all that snow being eatin.

But really it would just not be a problem any longer.

I ran lead for 15 mins today in snow that was coming over the hood so much I had to have the wipers on HIGH AF setting, with defrost on max, just to see :cookiemonster:

No problem with air intake eating all the snow flying everywhere, it is up so much higher, solves alot of issues.:gossip:

I did not consider what happens to the airbox when blasting through snow...

maybe a dorkle is in my future...

cowl snorkel. Best of both worlds. Issue is the snow coming off the tire from the fender.
