The $500 deposit is also completely non-binding and fully refundable. If they tell you otherwise, burn the dealership down.

I had ran into my dealer when he was at my work and talked to him about a manual Taco, he sent me some allocated ones he got. I mulled over it for a few weeks and put down my 500 and got a vin for it and have it on the Toyota App.

It is expected to come in mid to late March and going to get MSRP and my Costco discount and a good deal on my Camry I am trading in. I am just counting the days till I drive it home.

My experience (GA) is each dealer has a 'master' list of vehicles. Where we bought our truck showed us what was in the entire Southeast pipeline. On this list notes are made in red whether or not there is a hold on one. The list I saw had roughly 200-300 vehicles on it with 90 percent having been sold.

We needed to have ours by NYE and started looking the week before. Sales rep took a CC down payment on the phone and gave us the window sticker. We went in two days later to pay for it and it was delivered a few hours after. Seems like all of the southeast ones are coming out of Jacksonville FL.

Which dealership did you work with? I'm in TN as well and Memphis is within driving distance.

Nobody wants to pay over MSRP but the fact is that the Tacoma is a hot item and hot items get bigger ticket prices due to their demand, it’s just the market honestly. I see people here and there that get MSRP and that’s awesome but you’ve really got to hunt for those dealers because it’s just not easy.

YeH I had a dealer tell me $1000 non refundable deposit! Knew it was BS. Same dealership told me they couldn’t remove any of the port items even before it went to port.

Here is a trick, if you can afford to pay it off immediately, you finance it at their “suggested APR”. They think they will make thousands more off you and prioritize a sale to you….

…until the next day you pay it off. Most wont have an early payment penalty.

    No honor among thieves.

SE dealer won’t work with anyone. Go to large markets.

Picking it up from Denver, CO this Friday.

I might try in East TN then. I believe we're part of the Ohio Valley Region, so hopefully those dealerships will be more reasonable than the Gulf States or SE region. I know that Memphis is in TN, but having lived there for years, Memphis is just...Memphis.
