Getting ready to close on a new house. It’s about 3/4 of an acre with a lot behind I plan to buy later on to make it close to 1.5 acres. It’s got quite a bit of grass and never had grass besides as a kid and it was a small amount.

I wanted an old school riding lawn mower but being close to Vegas there isn’t much “old school” of anything or much anything to do with lawn care.

so any recommendations for a riding lawn mower? Can’t afford a zero turn and property has a little bit of a grade to it. We will get a little snow so being able to put a small blade on the front will be a plus. Budgets around 2k but less is better

also going to need a weed whacker and blower and probably looking at a gas one since there’s a lot to do and I’ll burn up the cordless batteries doing something this big.

Following this thread as well as ultimate goal is to get a decent sized tractor with a front bucket and rear back hoe like the kubota or John deer but wouldn’t mind a skid steer either.

If you're looking for a used one you may have to expand your search area and do a little traveling. It would be nice if you could find an older John Deere or Cub Cadet with a blade attachment already with it. When you start buying attachments the price adds up quick. Good look in your search and congrats on your new property purchase!

    Very strange.

No project in the shop at this moment. The place has a strange echo.PXL_20220216_211537804.jpg

    Well that didn't last long.

Just got contracted to build another utility trailer. So much for wide, open, spaces.

I kind of expected it. Peeps with tax returns always reach out this time of year.

The last time I had that much space I got three Wisconsin 2 cylinders in 3 weeks.
Every time I make that much clear space something "appears" in it... :annoyed:
The magic shrinking garage syndrome, maybe it was built over a plutonium deposit or something. :notsure:

I need to refloor this one, it’s 6’ x 12’ I paid $400 for the trailer many years ago.

There are no more $100 fix up trailers anymore, junk on wheels with a title is at least $500 here.

Got a question. The picture is of the leaky part pissing diesel fuel all over the valve cover of my JD1830. There was a tiny hole in the bottom (where the JB weld is covering). The part was at the far end of the injector rail. One of the holes (top) was the return to the fuel tank, the botom was the line from the rail. The lowest one went to the air intake. I think that was for a start assist that has never worked for me. There's a spade terminal on the end of the line...gets heated then fuel is pumped across it so your first cranks have hot fuel in the air being compressed?

I finally figured it was a regulator of some sort. The return to fuel tank pees in the filler neck like an old guy pissing, not a lot of force. Pressure in the fuel rail to injectors must be high, so it drops the pressure down I'm guessing.

The JBweld seems to be holding. The hole was about 1/16inch diam. Maybe from a bad casting (it's aluminum), or a spot where erosion occured due to high pressure fuel impinging on it? Any thoughts?

    Don't know on that reg.

I took down a dead cherry tree that I mow under. It had huge limbs going both ways and leaned away from the biggest as well as being on a slope. I was worried a limb would fall off on me so I cut it and then pulled it down. Those huge limbs shattered when it fell so my extra work was justified to me.

Limbed it with the Poulan 2150 and did the thick stuff with my new/used Stihl MS291. That dude rocks. That trunk was bouncing the 500lbs of ballasted rear off the ground on my 3240.

Wife is having some weirdness going on. In the ER Friday. Cardiac stress test this coming week. I'm OK but fatigue easily. Took several breaks today while cutting that tree.
