I chased a squeak at the dealership for a while many, many years ago… it was reproducible but tracking it down was another issue. This one turned out to be the plastic block that the bottom of the windshield sat on to keep the glass in place while the polyurethane set. After hours and hours of time spent, the fix was loosening a screw and repositioning the block. I think warranty paid me 10 time units, 1/10 of an hour, a whole 2.80 cents. When I complained management said I should have figured it out faster… yeah, I figured it out. All BS jobs like this are now NPF, no problem found.

I picked up a tool kit today, so I'll have another go when it warms up again.

    Finally a warm day!

I got the tools and made another go at it today. I got everything except that infernal clip on the window crank. I could move it back and forth but it would not release. After 30 minutes of trying, I ended up cursing at it. :angrygirl:

I peaked back as much of the panel as I was able to see. Here's what I could see. Didn't see any tears except minor holes behind the handle, and there was some tape at the bottom.

    UPDATE:
I think I've isolated the source to the windshield. I was driving with the noise going and just happened to need to clean the windshield. When I did and the windshield got wet with the wiper fluid, the noise stopped.

Yep. Planning to caulk this week when I get a chance so I can confirm this is it. :fingerscrossed:

Otherwise, I've got a growing playlist of songs to match the pitch of the noise.

Yeah that does look suspicious, was looking at mine and it’s tight all the way across. A windshield shop might be able to get that all fixed up if caulk doesn’t do it. they’d probably just pull the whole windshield and put it back in as if they’d replaced it.
