I too have that hiss, good to know that running speaker level inputs is better. I might have to run some for my dm810 dsp. Though I have been thinking of moving on to a stinger height10 kit this summer.

I think I am going to run speedwire from the radio back to the back where the amps are and put a LC7i there to replace the Matrix. I think this will give me the sound I am looking for. I also didnt notice the hiss when I ran the speaker inputs to the front channels just to test. This is the current setup I am testing (forgive the temp red ground wires, I am waiting on more 8ga to come in).

Im running the same amps, but I have a extra 4.300 in the mix since I am running the dm810 dsp. Each and every speaker in my system has its own channel (3 way front stage). Those acm amps are really really nice.

@DirtyGovnuh Just thinking of ideas here to improve the signal to the amps.... USB sound cards, they work for android... I might have to grab one and just plug it into the dash USB, then right into my DSP and see what kind of difference it makes.

I went ahead and ordered a LC7i, I am going to send the Matrix back. I am happy with how it sounds on speaker lvl inputs so I think the LC7i should fit the bill, at least using it I know I am getting the full range signal coming in. This has been an expensive rabbit hole of a journey.

Your telling me... I finally had to stop when I starting getting close to 1/4 the value of the truck in just audio. This summer I plan to go back and redo the whole system, but mostly just redo all the wiring, route all my power cables better and secure my RCA cables better. I have to pull all the carpet to finish sound treatment in the floors, so I should have a good change to redo the wiring.

Has anybody updated their Joying to the latest software from Nov 2021?

    The file name is Android 10.0 1024x600 1280x720 2021.11.11

Can I plug in the USB to my OEM USB or do I need to plug the USB into the back of the unit?

Does it update automatically or do I need to do something to initiate the update?

Thanks! How will I know when it's complete?

This is the update I was sent from Joying support. I downloaded and unzipped and there are 34 files. Does that sound right?

Sounds about right. You just plug it, the headunit will do its thing, then when its done it will be back to normal. Your steering wheel controls wont work, and your apps will be gone along with all your settings. So make sure you remember where everything was set.

When I do updates, I turn the ign on, put in the drive then leave the truck and let the truck turn its self off after 15 minutes.

I downloaded the file named Android 10.0 1024x600 1280x720 2021.12.23 and then see a zip file named 6315_1zip. Do I unzip that file and then put contents onto my USB?

Yes, unzip the file onto a usb, then plug it in.

Once you do it once, you realize how easy they actually made the firmware updates. The biggest hurtle is figuring out what firmware from their site to use.

Same here, that is my only other gripe, calls over carplay are absolutely useless. I have to use speaker phone or the phone itself. I am almost to the point of going back to the factory headunit. I have a 2021 and the tombit oem adapter doesnt work for my year but even then I have heard of people having issues with it too.

I have it, and it's slightly worse than the front mic. This tells me it's an issue with the unit.

You know if you guys adjust your equalizer in the hu settings it helps phone calls tremendously. I've had my unit almost 1 yr . Yeah I used to have same complaint too. One day I said wth let's try one of the presets in the hu. Before I would tune the hu to my likings . Now ive fined tuned it better to where my phone calls are great and my music hits harder . Trebs crystal clear and the bass is just right for me. Before it felt like I was always turning my bass up or down depending on what I was listening to. So back to hu I choose I think rock and from there I did some finer tuning and bamb everythings good .

The equalizer has no effect on what the other person hears. The issue is not with my end, its the person I am talking to. All they hear is static and are unable to hear me. I have the 10.5 headunit so mine does not have a mic built in and the external mic it comes with sucks.

Does your unit have wireless carplay? If the built in mic works well, I may ditch my 10.5 and get the 9 that has the mic on the front. I never really realized how much I used bluetooth calls until I couldn't anymore because no one could hear me.
