The fine print says it’ll only support 6 pounds per case. How many beers is that?

Edit: I did the math with the help of google and it’s about 7 cans per case.

Took all the body work off the Navi today so I could pull the carb off, a loooot of fasteners holding that stuff on, kind of a pain.

Once I had the carb off though, drilled out the EPA cap covering the air/fuel screw so I could finally get the bike running and idling right. That was real nerve wracking. Used some left handed drill bits and went slow and it was all OK, then had to use the dremel to score a flat head line across the top of the A/F screw. It just had a flattened off side to the head before, which I'm assuming they have a special tool for but which I do not.

TL;DR: great success, bike idles like a champ now, also learned a lot about what's under the Navi's clothes.

Amazes me they put a carb in it. Looks like a good design for the rack.

Anyone see the the Honda 1100 NT in real life yet? Seriously considering it, but doesn't seem to be in the US quite yet. Sold my Africa Twin this past fall. Need something new this spring.

Looks like it will give the FJR a run for its money.

Edit. That thing looks good without the panniers.

It's basically a road touring version of the Africa Twin. The intriguing part is that it supposedly comes with everything: center stand, cruise control, panniers, etc.

Yeah it's kind of wild, but I guess if they were trying to hit a price point and had a bunch of carbs leftover in India it made sense for them? Who knows. Carbs are at least tunable without needing to flash in an ECU tune or something, so that's a bonus I guess.

The rack is surprisingly stout. I think it has like a 3kg weight limit (6.6lbs, 6 1/3 tall boys) according to Honda, but could very easily hold more. It can hold my weight without flexing.

Went to prime my bike with oil to get her on the road again after troubleshooting 1500 problems..

removed the oil quill to prime some oil to the big end. Snugged it down and the thing shattered in multiple pieces.

instead of firing her up, I spent the afternoon tearing it apart to retrieve the broken pieces, all in all it’s fine, but what a let down.

I was able to get an old Pelican case I had laying around and BD S1 lights(which needs the final wiring) mounted up. Not my original position for the lights but I think it worked out well.

Going back to my UJM/DS roots. Love the bike. Will miss it. May have another someday. But for the same price I can grab 3-4 bikes in my short list which will give me projects to work on. I miss having a project bike I can chop up, weld on, make parts for, mess with, etc. while have a couple to ride at the same time. Right now all my toy money is in one bike that’s no fun to work on and would leave me with no second/third to ride when I do.

Rides like a dream. I don’t even have to touch the handlebars until it’s time to turn ha. Love the bike, but want to fire up the angle grinder and welder and feel bad chopping this one up.

Same reason I sold my 2012 Tacoma in 2012 and bought a 93 project truck haha. Never learn my lesson, I guess!
