What are y'all's favorite CRUISE CONTROL solutions for bikes that don't have it? I've admittedly grown addicted.

Not technically cruise control, but on my F800GS I have a Kaoko throttle lock. Can't really tell it's there until you roll it on or off. Downsides are that it's expensive and bike specific (unless you feel like making your own spacers and caps and stuff..), you can't take it with you when you move bikes compared to a $20 crampbuster or something.

I’ll do some research, thank you.

I’m not worried about cost or compatibility IF it’s the most useful user experience. I’ve never had cruise until the Chief and it really helps my painful hands/arms/back to be able to sit up and move around all I want. Thank you again!

I used one of these on several Iron Butt certificate rides when I had my '07 FJR.

    https://www.amazon.com/Go-Cruise-GC...le+Locks+Cruise+Control&qid=1645467712&sr=8-9

Works well enough to let you give your right hand a break on reasonably level highways. Had a few times out west when the road was clear, level , and straight where it held steady speed for probably 10 miles or more. Now that I have my '14 FJR with electronic cruise though I can't ever go back. Gave my old throttle like like that to @w.adventures when he flew up to Philly and then was riding that SV home. Ask him how it worked for him.

It was a hand saver for sure! If I was looking for something permanent I would look into that one @spencermarkd linked to.

The Kaoko and Throttlemeister units both work very well and are nicely designed to integrate into the bike cleanly but on that note are bike specific so you can't take it with you if you change bikes. All of these are simple throttle locks simply holding the throttle at a set point so you can rest your hand for short stretch. There are some others out there like Brakeaway that work really well and have a nice "push button" off that may make some riders feel safer as it's really fast to release in an emergency situation. I know over on ADVRider.com I've seen another one called Atlas being made by one of the members over there that also looks pretty slick.

When I used to commute to school, I bought a thick o-ring slightly smaller than my bar end, but thicker than the gap to the grip. I filed a little notch in the bar end, and when I needed to hold a throttle position, I would roll the o-ring into the grip and it would stop it from moving on it’s own. It was under a dollar and worked well enough for me at the time. Not sure I would do it again, but if it’s for beater bike…

Maybe it’s just me, but I have a little chuckle to myself every time I see HDs new offering

I always think, that looks ironically familiar (to me, anyway)…

…to the bike that almost ixnayed HD’s existence entirely, if not for their lawyers haha.

I’d love to ride the Tiger Sport 660 and the Tiger 850 Sport side by side for comparison.

I would agree with this tbh

1 commuter/around town bike that can handle twisties decently, 1 offroad oriented that can still cruise highways so I don't have to trailer it, and 1 track oriented and/or dedicated would be my sweet spot.

    I've got the commuter down...

Agreed. I have several stretches on the freeway home where the sides open up to a small valley or lagoon, with the coast just on the other side where you can see the sunset perfectly.
