    These are awesome! I cant believe how much detail you packed into them.
    I watched a couple videos on YouTube and it seems like it wouldn't be too bad.
    Correct me if I am wrong but do you use a paint pen to draw the fine details like the headlights and lettering?

    that slider and roof rack are awesome! how do you even build those?

    I build scale models so I have an assortment of really fine paint brushes that I used for all the finer details. As for the sliders/bumpers/racks/etc are all a combination of styrene, brass rod and some 2-part filler compound.

    I wish getting a HW Tacoma was as easy as buying a real one: put down a deposit, be willing to pay between MSRP to 15% above, then wait.

    A 1000% to 2000% market adjustment on a toy car is just out of control.

    This is an awesome thread. I'm 53 years young, and Hotwheels were my go-to when I was young. I have just gotten back into collecting them for ... ahem, my future grandsons... I love some of the other tacoma Hotwheels that I'm seeing on this thread as well as the new 3rd gen.

    Ha, I think I bought from the same seller on eBay. And I have the same thought process--my time and vehicle costs quickly add up.

    After several visits to my Target and checking grocery stores that sometimes have HWs, a less gouge-y scalper made sense.

    I have an eBay watchlist for my Taco projects, so yesterday hit the "Buy Now" for two HWs that works out to $7.07 apiece plus tax and currently bidding on a lot of six that would total $40.00 with shipping added ($6.67 each plus tax). If successful, I'll probably have some to sell at cost (and I'll eat the postage from here for the TW community). Or trade for a Gen2?
