Story time! So I keep a wooden spoon in my car for scraping snow and ice off my wheels (don't judge it works well lol.) So I jump on the highway and immediately feel off balance Wheels. I pull over on a side road and make sure I get over enough so I'm not blocking traffic. I just finished the fourth and last wheel and I'm just beginning to stand up when I hear a vehicle. Here I am on the side of the road with a wooden spoon. I have two options and neither one is good. I either hide it behind my back and look shady as hell, or I confront it straight on and just look right into the guy's window holding a wooden spoon. I choose option two. He looks at me and then at the spoon, and asks me with an awkward face if I need any help. I told him no thank you, just cleaning the ice out of my wheels. I bet you $100 when he got where he was going he said, "You'll never believe what I just saw! Some yuppie got his Outback stuck and was trying to dig out with a wooden spoon!" ......

Might be out of my mind buying parts/tools this winter but I am the new owner of a Branick 7400 spring compressor. Come springtime I can change shocks/springs in the Kenosha area if anyone needs it done. Send me a DM since I can't keep up with this thread no matter how much I try.

Warmed up today: 37 degrees! Spent the afternoon outside working on truck projects. Fitted up the sliders I am working on. Didn't quite fit (because it was -18 when I tried last time is my excuse) because I measured and guestimated a tad. Need to take 2" off the front as I am into the cab mount. 10 minutes with the plasma cutter and its fixed. The back that I thought was too long, is perfect so I will get them shortened and boxed tomorrow. Buy the bolts (1/2 inch grade 8,,,) and get this part mounted. Need to make some plates that go in the boxed section of the frame for through bolts, and then I can make a templet for bending the tubing (3/16 DOM!)

I also finished all the wiring for my winch. Stuck it in, tied off to a tree and rewound the drum. Did this front and rear to make sure everything was working correctly on both ends. Dang thing is heavy, but I like the ability to use it from either end. Now to make a rack so I can haul it around...

Lol! Maybe I'll try a wood spoon for scraping mud out of my wheels. :D

I think a rubber spatula would work great if the mud was still wet :p

Tried some shenanigans but x-mode 2 is still too restrictive. Need to research how to completely disable any and all driver aids.

Is it like a Toyota, where you can hold it down while stopped for like 5 seconds and everything shuts off?

I wish. There is no physical button, and in options I can turn vsc off but it is most definitely not off even though it says it is. And x-mode 2 gives a fair amount of freedom, but not as much as I want.

Lame. You might have to join a Subie forum to learn the secret! :)

I was just checking because a lot of people don't realize we can turn ours off. I have had tons of fun in snowy parking lots. :burnrubber:
