Factory invertor button light up?

As annoying as all my buttons having different blue lighting is.... I'm more annoyed by a factory button not lighting up. Does anyone's light up or are they all like this?

 

I've noticed this as well. Mine does not light up.

 

They are ALL like that. Get used to it.

My inverter button does not light up. Neither does my "Clutch Start Cancel" button, next to it.

Most of the buttons that are backlighted have 2 LED's -- one for the backlighting, and one to indicate that the function is activated.

The inverter button already has 2 LED's, to indicate 400 watts and 100 watts. Backlighting it would require a 3rd LED. That may be the design problem.

 

Hey, at least you have an inverter button. There are children in third world countries who are starving AND have no inverter button on their Tacoma's!

So I checked my inverter button, and whadda ya know, it DOES light up.

You may be mistaken. I took a close look at my buttons, and it appears that the lettering is different. On the "Auto" button, which is backlit, next to the inverter button, the lettering is etched away, exposing the white plastic face of the button. In other words, the black is a coating. The backlight shines through the translucent white plastic, illuminating the lettering. On the other hand, the lettering on the inverter button is a luminescent paint on the surface. If the lettering glows, it's only by reflection from the neighboring buttons.

I don't believe the cargo light switch is illuminated either.

Replace the factory switch with one of these ones, you just need to get the wire diagram and you should be able to figure it out.

This is the power button for my interior inverter

 

My button lights up, but the letters do not. It's also an amber light, not blue.

 

Mine lights up that way. Just would be nice if it back lit
