07 tacoma

Cam anybody help plz.
I have 07 tacoma a/c is comming out through defrost feet and face at the same time while it's in face setting. It does the same in all but defrost will only work by itself while in defrost. Called auto stores and suggested I replace blendoor acuator. Didn't work.
Anybody know what part I would need.

Did you replace the right one?
You are looking for the Mode Control Servo

 

No I replaced the blendoor acuator.

 

The blend door (Air Mix) only controls Hot/Cold.
It’s doesn’t control where the air comes out.

 

Ok you know where I can get one.

 

And is it difficult to get to and replace it.

 

Toyota definitely didn’t make it easy to find on their diagrams.
They call all of them a “Blend Door” actuator. And there are 3 different ones.

I have never had to replace one on a Tacoma……yet

 

Easy to get at, just drop the glove box down and it's right there, screws are 5.5mm I believe.

 

Is it the one with the blue clip if so I replaced that it didn't work.

 

It's the blendoor acuator.

 

The one I replaced is on the side of the blower motor

 

Yes that's the mode actuator I just verified on mine.
Does yours move?
When the knob is on Defrost the notch should line up with the mark at the 10:00 position, when the knob is on Feet it should be in the 12:00 position, when the knob is on Panel it should be at about 2:30.

 

You replaced this 1 with just 2 wires on it?

2. You must not have nearly enough crap in your glove box, mines packed full. Lol
3. In your pic, yours is in “Panel” on the dash? Correct? (Your notch looks to be at 2:30)

Yes Panel would be vents (knob all the way counter clockwise)

 

When I set it to face it blows out to face and feet and defrost. When I set it to face and feet it blows to face feet and defrost. When set to feet it blows to face feet and defrost. When set to feet and defrost it blows to face feet and defrost. When set to defrost it blows more to defrost and feet and a little to face.

 

Sound like the Mode Door for the defrost is stuck OPEN.
Again, Toyota calls every one of them a “Mode Door” this is where you need a good parts guy. Because there are 4 of them, all named the same thing.

 

Ok whats the name of the part the arrow is pointing at.
