My contact has told me a good sized shipment of caps will be arriving at a stateside port by the end of Feb. As long as ground freight isn't FUBAR'ed by this administration, we may be seeing them available by April.

I’d love to see how the lead times improve once they get their location here in Fort Worth up and running. I’ve been eyeing one of these bad boys for a while now.

Smartcap is working on them but we don't have an ETA. If you're interested in a set, the best thing to do is submit a warranty request through SmartCap's website and get added to the list on their end.

i think who ever (RSI, RLD, Alu, etc) gets their solution to the latch issue on the ground first will be getting a lot of new orders. which... could then present its own new (supply) issue.

It’ll be interesting to see what they’ve done on the new caps being delivered. Since the 2nd Gen top is a newly released topper, I’d hope the improved latch would be part of that. I’ll let you know when I get mine in the next month.

Anyone in here with an Adventure willing to trade for side doors from a Sport + some cash?

If so (and you're within a couple hundred miles of I-90) let me know!

I'm heading East from Portland to Cleveland via I-90 at the beginning of March and wouldn't mind having to detour to get this taken care of.

Sure it's a long shot, but like Gretzky said "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

Absolutely! Martin OR makes a shell rack for camper shells so you can for sure do that. I've attached some photos below of a couple RSI builds with RTT's installed on them.

These are the closest images I have at hand with Frontrunner racks. It's not a Tacoma but you kind of get the idea. If you get Frontrunner racks and want the height to line up, we can make that happen for you as it can be difficult without the right parts. The SmartCap sits a little bit taller than the cab of the Tacoma.

is sawpping doors easy? say i wanted 1 side EVOa door with the molle panel and the other side to be an EVOs door with glass. is that possible? would i have to find someone swap with or does smartcap make an option like that direct from the factory?

AFAIK that is not an option. Unfortunately nationwide lead times and all that also make it so dealers and/or RSI aren't really willing to sell pieces parts unless it's a warranty thing.

I'd happily pay a decent chunk of change to undo my mistake of ordering the EVOs by purchasing replacement EVOa doors outright (it'd sure beat having to buy a whole other cap instead)... :spending:

I'm in Portland right now so not too far from ID.

Unfortunately I'm moving to Ohio on Friday!

I will get back out this way pretty often though, so it's possible we could finagle something at some point in the future, planning would just be a bit more... "complicated."

Before I go looking through all 121 pages for it… does anyone have a voodoo blue short bed with an RSI cap on it they can post pictures of?
I’d like to see how it looks…
