An FJ60 or FJ62 would be about the only vehicle I would cancel my current 2022 Tacoma order for...luckily I will never find a clean one (for sale anyway) on Oahu, so I'm good! It's on my very short list for when I get back to the mainland, though. Get any pics?

She's finally back! Can you tell which tire and wheel are new? Almost two months for Geico to sort it out. If you love your insurance company let me know, I'm shopping.20220222_090038.jpg

This hurts me it's so cute.
Haha, I almost put a disclaimer that I wish I could get USAA, but I'm not military. I have only ever heard good things about them.

Well after 3 weekends of a few hours here and there, I finally got the DD civic out of the in-laws garage, she's sitting at their local Firestone for an alignment.

08 civic hybrid: pulled original shocks, coilovers, front control arms & tie rod ends, rear sway bar link ends, rotors, driver's CV axle and transmission/axle output seal
It only took me 2 extra weekends since during the initial parts swapping we found out that the drivers sides cv axle inner joint was busted up and had obvious signs of water intrusion, plus the transmission output seal was damaged.20220213_180023.jpg
Of course I have the unicorn of the 8th gen civic, the hybrid...this made finding the hybrid specifc CV axle a challenge...finally got the correct one, 11 days later, and wasn't as pictured (the dampener thingamajig wasn't included), but the length, and spline counts matched the OE one/specs.

    So long 15yr old parts...20220219_144502.jpg

Don't worry, I did break a bolt on the caliper guide pin, plus the expected stripping out of a few recessed Allen bolts on rear shocks and rear sway link ends. 20220219_143637.jpg

Nice work! I recall changing out my CV axles from my FJ after 140k miles and it wasn't difficult to do since it was easier (and cheaper) to just buy a whole new axle for both sides. Changed everything else while I was at it like you did. Although, it looks to be much more difficult on a civic! lol. Glad it all worked out!

Totally thought most of the swaps would be easier, if only based on side and weight differences...smaller and lighter I thought, it'd be a bit smoother go, but tighter quarters to get to stuff. I am definitely excited to get it back and see how the handling improvements translate, plus hopefully I eliminated the whhhoooooooooooommpppppp vibration and erratic side-to-side shifting (like getting hit with 55+mph side gust).

Besides my mostly-mechanically-challenged and bolt-breaking-self type challenges, and knowing I'd likely have some expected corrosion removal issues...the real frustration and challenge was more about sourcing the on-off parts for the hybrid while avoiding the $$$$ dealer offered prices (granted I was able to pick up the CVTF @less than $10/qt through the dealership).

Now I'm just trying to get the Taco oil&filter changed, lube the 2 DL zerks and check the tranny fluid level (have been having some erratic shifting/acceleration the last few weeks of the 90mi DD round trip, probably should go see if there are any updates for the 2017 AT).

Not yet, they're just laying outside the in-laws garage...not sure what you'd want out of the pile of parts:notsure:, but if there is something(s) you want PM and we can go forward.
