My initial deposit was on July 15th for a wind chill pearl TRD Sport (fully loaded). Yesterday I accepted a build for a WCP/hickory brown Limited DCSB, build date is 3/9. Disappointed I'm not getting the hood scoop. Haha now I just need recommendations on the best tri-fold tonneau cover, and how to cover up the chrome mirrors!

If you have a trade-in in good shape, then it comes out about even. Sure, we're paying the MSRP-Invoice difference now, but my trade-in is worth several thousand more as well. My dealership tried to lowball the $hit out of my trade-in, until I pulled out offers from Carvana, Vroom, Carmax, etc and told them if they wouldn't match them, I'd just sell to them the week of. They'll give you some sob story about needing to make money off your car, but they'll come up and get close to those offers after that if they really want your trade-in ( they do).

I came out way better selling my car to Carvana. I got 3k more than dealer was willing to give on trade. I did pay MSRP without a markup.

This is not true. Last week toyota averaged about 2500 tacomas a day. That is almost exactly 40% less then last year and about 65% less then the year before (2020), on top of that my PRO was a week 47 it should have been built in December. I am still waiting on a week 47 truck. So no, they are not producing them at the same rate as years past

I finally got a response from a salesperson there - unfortunately, he said that they are not currently selling to anyone "outside their region". I didn't specifically ask about within the region, but a different state. Thanks for the info, though!

@doctor_phil, many of us, myself included, refuse to pay one penny above MSRP. Some folks will pay it, others will pay way more than that dealer is charging, but for the rest of us, the moment we're told there is a markup is when the conversation stops.

Understood. I was going to buy this, but my MSRP dealer FINALLY came through for me. My truck will be built on 2/24.

But DCLB Sport in Lunar Rock isn't easy to find. I'd rather someone here who wants it to at least have the opportunity <3

Santa Margarita is doing 880$ markup on 4x2 and 1880$ on 4x4. Plus they aren't pre selling all the trucks which isn't normal currently.

It wasn't mine either when I was younger, I'm 65 now and patience definitely works to my advantage from time to time. :)

More likely that today's epic date will impact it. 2/22/22 lands on Taco Tuesday!
Eat tacos or manufacture tacos... Hard decision if it were mine to make.

While I've never seen Toyota's assembly line, most automotive lines I've seen produce cars and trucks in well under 20 hours; so while not necessarily the "same day" as when the production of any given vehicle started, it is almost always completed either "same day" or "next day".

While I am in this party I believe I read that like 80% of these new car transactions are with a markup, we’re definitely the minority if that’s true

edit here’s a link, as with everything take with a grain of salt:
