I suppose if I were in your spot I’d grab a new derailleur cable and housing, chain (9 speed works on 8 too if it’s easier to source/cheaper), cassette (11-34 if you can find but 11-32 is fine if it’s cheaper), maybe a new middle ring up front (those get used the most and wear fastest), prob ditch the big ring and put a bash guard or honestly leave it and let it become your defacto bash guard , ride, rinse, repeat.

Edit: just went dig through my parts bin, thought I might have an old 8sp casssette. Shifters but no cassette. Did find something that might help you though. I’ll send you a PM @tacoma04

Just got mine a few days ago. Super impressed with them. I was on the cusp pf medium or small (31) so I went with small for the tighter fit. They are super comfy, and feel great pedaling. Perfect pocket placement, excellent build quality.

So cool! Can't wait to take my little man out. How old is she? Thinking when he's about 1 year?

Wait.... Your doggo was IN the pack?

I took a quick camping trip to the Utah desert this weekend before the winter weather rolled in. Super fun.
Just installed a Wolftooth -1 headset on the Django to get the geo more where I like it. Totally made the bike so much more capable, surprising for a 140/120 bike that likes to pedal. Super stoked on how it rode.

Milo recently did my CMC and I’m super happy with his work. Cool that they ride MTB too!

I'm extremely glad that the mediums fit perfect. I'm also happy that the wine color isn't as pink as some photos make them appear!

There are lots of really good breweries and biking in and around Corvallis. Block 15 was my favorite though; especially during Bourbon month (i.e. February). They do a bunch of fancy bourbon barrel aged beers and also serve lots of fancy bourbons. Also, if you can, get to know someone in the fermentation science department at OSU...

Unless your boy is a serious stud, 1 year old is likely gonna be too soon. We're hoping to get our second daughter in to a more supportive seat for commuting (like this) by about 9 months - 1 year. I think 18 months is really the earliest I would suggest putting a kid on the shotgun/macride. Every kid/parent is different though, so you'll have to feel it out for yourself.

Did anyone have any issues or troubles installing these types of locks/mounts on the forward bed rail? It seems super tight. With the bike mounted. I can easily rock it side to side and the hardware comes loose. The bike won't fit sideways so.

Go on... what do you rep? I`m interested in some Shimano pedals, having trouble deciding which ones, but sort of like the Shimano pdm 8120. Got any of those or similar?

Yes, I actually bought a set of XTR pedals for myself and an XX1 cassette. Currently best cassette I can get is GX though.

Anyways, back on topic these are the Shimano pedals I can get. Also have some crankbrother mallets. Reminder these items are new and drop shipped to you upload_2022-2-22_19-6-51.jpgupload_2022-2-22_19-5-6.jpg

I agree 1 is probably too early for this type of seat. Ours is 19 months now and we perhaps could have done it a couple months earlier but not much more. She is on the more advanced/developed side of things for her age too. My brothers kid is a month older and would not be ready at all.

They need to be able to hold on and understand basic instructions like “both hands!” when they get distracted and start pointing at birds or something.

When I had that installed on the front rail I actually had to flip it upside down for it to clamp properly. Makes it slightly trickier to use but worked well. I now have it mounted onto my bed rack.
