Wow, those skinny Mickey Thompson ATs look absolutely awesome. But I’m guessing I would also be looking at a re-gear and a spare relocation?

I’ve been on 5.29s since 33s and yes. My spare is in my bed. Plus I have the Archive HH and cross bar.

No, 255s have about same section width as 285s, the sidewall bulge area.

Thank you, I appreciate how active you stay in this thread. Sound like one way or another 3.5” back spacing it is, thank you for the clarification.

Other than a few bead-locks I’m not finding many wheels with 3.5 or less back spacing. Unless anyone can recommend any wheels that I have over looked it sounds like I will be going the spacer route too.

Thanks for all the input guys.

SCS has a few offerings in 9" wide -38 , which is 3.5" BS.

There are also plenty of wheels in 8" wide 4" backspacing and you could get a small slip on 1/2" spacer and longer studs on the rear to hit that mark while being as small as possible. It's what I have to get down to 3" BS for my 35s.

T4R Pro SEMA wheel is 17x7 +4mm which puts them around 3.65BS, I believe. I could be wrong in my calculations.

Interesting, I thought backspacing was equal to 1/2 wheel width +/- offset.

I can never remember the correct way to calculate it so I always use a calculator. Something to do with adding 1/2" to account for the lip or something.

I was never sure about the half inch thing. I’ll just add that in from now on.

Hey all. Just pulling the trigger with relocation kit through Accutune for 2.5x12 Fox DSC rear smoothies, hangers, 3.6 shackles, Deaver Stage 2, etc. I’m currently running 16x8 wheels. No offset, and 4.5” of backspacing. 285/75r16 KO2s mounted on them. It seems like rear limit straps are a game time decision (length based on final mounting points, etc). I’d like to make sure I’ve got the backspacing covered though. @ARCHIVE, what do I need to put in for spacers to clear the shock? Thanks so much!

Eric, thanks so much for your quick answer. I’ve ordered 1.5” spacers (for temp use). Curious what my ideal wheel backspacing is, to avoid the spacers if I stay with the 285/75r16’s? Also curious where the spacing would need to be to clear on 315/75/r16’s? Thanks again! Hope someone got to take advantage of your sale.

several customers have said a 9" wide wheel with 3.5" backspacing does not need a wheel spacer for 285s this relocation kit

Not sure if this has already been asked considering there 40+ pages on this thread but if I were to run the 2.5 shock relocation and use 2.5 bypasses, how big of spacers would I need? Website says 2” but my wheels are 0mm. If I went with 2” spacers I’d most likely need fiberglass no?

    Thank you.
