ECU TSB Update

I didn’t even know there was a cable check lol

a tactrix cable should work just fine with techstream. That’s what most of us use

 

I have no idea. Getting a connection to the vehicle has always been enough for me.

 

I just wanted to see if anyone else had this result. Don't want to cause an issue down the line with ECU updates bricking the truck.

 

Mine shows the same. I wouldn’t worry about it. Probably just something funky with ts

How do you know if your truck needs an ecu update? I haven’t taken mine to the dealer since 2018.

 

Do you know your current ECU ID?

If you don't have VFTuner, *most* obd code readers can identify ECU info

 

may be a sillly question, but does anyone know if i can use my VCDS cable from ross-tech?

 

No idea. You can install ts and see if it shows up in the vim select section.

 

How do you program the extra key fobs? I see you can add a key fob, but there are some data parameters?!? Dunno.

Go figure....I go through all this and find out that the "brand new" lexus key card has already been registered. That sucks.

 

Is that a problem? When I got the @MESO FlipFob, a group of us got old, used H-keys with the transponder and remote. We installed those guts in the new FlipFobs and successfully programmed them.

TS should be used offline regardless. So, how would the program have known if your new key was previously registered? Just curious and don't have any other input here as I don't have PTS.

 

Even if it has been registered, you should be able to clear / reset

I think you need some sort of token to register a previously registered key for the PTS trucks. There are also some places that you can mail it to that will make it an unused key again and send it back
