Is that the plating? I've never had an issue with that. Interesting.

If you tow with the new F150s, they chew through pads really quick due to the trailer sway control crap they put in the truck, it can also tank your fuel economy when towing. I've heard of a lot of people turning off traction control while towing to keep the sway control out of the equation.

The plating is just a fancy cover to make the luts look pretty. You can rip em' off or switch to a 22mm socket for the swollen ones.

Yeah, mine were just like that on the Tacoma. I put up with it until I got new tires at the dealer. They came out and told me I needed lug nuts. I said I know they're swollen and I usually just use a 22mm or fight with it. They said the thing was their impact destroyed one of the caps and once that happened they had no interest in continuing. They got me aftermarket ones at their cost - like $2 each - since the Toyota price was ridiculous. They were still on the truck when I traded it but were just starting to swell too.

I'll be curious to see how these hold up. My house is 6-pin Schlage C cylinders and these can be keyed to 6 pins. I keyed the shed ones to all 6 and the trailer ones to 5 pins. That way if someone borrows the trailer I can give them a 5-pin key that will unlock the hitch and tool box, but not open my house - but my house key still operates the trailer locks.

I heard the same thing - most of what I tow is so light that I don't think the sway control really comes into effect.

We also have the Cross Climate 2 on my wife's car, great tire. They do everything well, including snow. LTX on my Taco, also been great. Many sets of Michelins over the years on all types of vehicles and never a disappointment.

And can run air inside. Central tire inflation system CTIS I think is the acronym they use. I think some of the high end Mercs have them.
