TACO GARAGE - Dashtop Multi Mount (DMM) CLEAN and SOLID Tacoma accessory mounting

FYI, the mighty magnet will not hold up an iPhone 13 with the magsafe backing or a magsafe case. You have to have the metal plate inside the case or on the back of the phone. This renders the wireless charging useless. It's not a deal-breaker for me as the Carplay requires the cable but just letting everyone know.

 

Which flavor of iPhone 13 do you have? (mini, regular, Pro, Pro Max)

 

I have the Pro but I doubt it would hold a mini even without the plate. However, with the plate attached it solid AF lol

 

Good to know, I'm about to switch back to Apple and will likely get a regular 13.

 

look a little ways back (post 1239) at my solution for this. Moment makes a great mount for magsafe phones and cases that is easily adapted to the DMM. My 13 Pro Max is very solid on it. I can install and remove the lightning cable while its on the mount without it pulling off, and it handles the light offroading ive done so far without any issue

 

What exactly do I need to order for a RAM mount to ensure I can get it to work with the DMM? Taco Garage makes it easy to see what I need but RAM website doesn't make it easy. Is it just a RAM mount that I can put over the ball mount from TG?

 

DMM comes with a 1” ball mount. Any ram or tackform 1” or 25mm mounts should work with it.

 

Our DMM uses 1" ball mount like most other manufacturers so any system that also uses 1" or 25mm ball mounts or arms will be compatible EXCEPT... directly mounted on the DMM plates, the DMM uses 10-32 threads which are not available from any other manufacturer as far as I know so in order to mount something to the DMM you need at least the ball mount from us and then you can attach any other arms or holders that are 1" compatible.

We made some small changes to the latest aluminum arm design, here is what we have now, very similar but a bit better looking and slightly improved functionality. I feel weird saying it works better because you wouldn't necessarily think that there's much to these but there is, we improved on articulation, aesthetics, finish, grip, ease of use, ergonomics and manufacturing costs... let us know what you guys think....

That wont necesarily work, the center hole on those balls is too large for a 10-32 screw. Adding a bushing would fix that, we used to do it in the early stages of the DMM but its not ideal... That's one of the reasons we started making out own ball mounts. @R3b3lSon82

 

Looks like someone borrowed your design. Tweaked it slightly... while i like the idea of the wrapoed arpund on the passenger side i doubt it will be stabil offroad for very long due to the mounting method

Will these work with the Quadlock Ball mounts? I would scrap the arm. I have the DMM installed and was thinking of getting into their system. The DMM mount is 1" and it seems there balls are 22mm. Not sure if that is too much of discrepancy. Thanks

I had some 20mm balls in the shop, and I tried the arms on them, they held really well!
I’m not saying our arms will work on 22mm just yet but it looks like it…

The much awaited mic mount arrived today... I of course wasted no time in resetting the DMM to make room for the new additon.

This will make the next group trail ride a bit more enjoyable by having the GMRS mic up an out of the way.
