Welp. Maybe if I had some fancy calipers or something I could answer questions about how thick the tanks are. This is one of those moments where even I regret how big of a pack rat I am.

Thanks, appreciate it. Just will take time. I grew up with dogs and cats so I’m “used” to it. Pretty much first time for my wife and kid loosing a pet. They’re doing better.

Repair and maybe it’ll serve as a nice spare… or something… I’m not sure lol…

Gotta decide what to get now. Was thinking of the adjustment tool and maybe rope shackle or snatch strap. Though I have a tow strap and D ring metal shackles but maybe one of each (metal and rope, tow and snatch) would be nice since they both so different things… not sure what else since I just got springs earlier this month.
    Can’t go crazy

I went crazy, lol. I ordered the Cascadia 4x4 hood solar last week, and I'm ordering a dual battery setup this week.

If you're soliciting opinions, soft shackle and snatch strap sound like good choices. Like you said, they're different enough from what you have to be worth it. Plus if I'm remembering right they don't exactly break the bank. A nice lil pick me up

In other news: Just got word from Ironman that the reimbursement check for the fuel tank is in the mail. Will keep y'all posted but it seems stellar customer service still exists in the world!

You might need to just try a little more and see how it feels. I don’t think any of us really have the same height. I’ll measure mine for you later today to see if it’s settled some. I think I still need to go down more myself but have been going between letting it settle or adjusting now.
What type of tires do you have? I think my load E tires are most of the reason mine is stiff now.
Looking are your truck info again, I think it’s going to be something different since yours is lighter than mine, unless you have a bunch of extra weight.

So I'm running federals and they are load E... How much really does that effect my driving? Or I guess stiffness ?
Because I just remeasured my shocks and they're only 2.5" of thread of load I just installed new bump stops hopefully that will smooth things out
I would say I am pretty heavy bumper winch and rack with 2 gun cases

I’m going to bet that it’s the tires then (the lift is still part of it). What psi are you running? I don’t remember my ride being remarkably stiff before my load E tires. I’m running about 31-32 psi cold. Seems to be the sweet spot for me.

Edit- You know, I’m not a tire expert (but did stay at a holiday inn express at one point)but maybe @Discount Tire could offer insight on load C vs E rated tires and stiffness. Maybe I’ll be proved wrong.

You know, I have e rated tires and I dropped the PSI down. Helped a ton. I went from 35 on all, but it was more like 36 when warmed up and driving, to 33 in the front and 32 in the rear. And that was using a tire guage and not the speedometer reading, which is off by about 1 PSI. I noticed the same thing on my previous vehicle after lifting and bigger tires, but the speedometer reading for tire pressure was off by a lot more, closer to 3 PSI on that vehicle. The Tacoma is only off by 1, maybe 1.5. I might even follow Hyrule and drop 1 more PSI. I have yet to do a chalk test but I don't notice any uneven wear so far. It's pretty easy to spot and happens fast. I've got just over 5k and at most of it at around 34-36 psi, which I think would have worn uneven pushing any longer. I think the low 30s is our sweet spot.

Ride is 10x better. I noticed it right away. Zero noticable loss in mpg because it already sucks lol. But that's kinda just the trade off for our lifts. Stiffer rides and less mpg. Really only so much fighting it you can do. Regardless, I'll be sticking with e rated tires for the duration from here on out. I love them. More tread and better tires all around. I love it so much I'm going with 315/75R16 next time

I went with wildpeaks and every time I see someone sharing a non e rated version I cant help but wonder why they look so weak and bald lol. There is that much of a difference. If you go by the measurements from tire manufacturer websites, not the tire shops like discount, you'll see it. My falkens are 32.9" at e rated, where other ratings are 32.7". That's a lot! And it's true with all e rated tires. Next time it's Mickey Thompson Bajas... They are in the 34.6/7" category, but again being e rated puts them at 34.9". So where all those other ratings do well at 35ish, we do well at a lower PSI due to all that extra tread and thicc boi weight.

I'm running 275/70/17 Toyo Open County AT III's at 33 PSI, may go down to 32. I noticed a huge difference in ride when I dropped from 36 to 33 but I'm on a stock suspension right now. Lift is next, probably IRONMAN Stage 2, I'm sure the ride will be a bit more rough but I'm used to jeeps, nothing rides as bad as a jeep LOL.

E rated? I've had the OC's in both gens and I loved them. Are you going constant load or performance? If you are at 275's I think I'd be pretty forgiving on the front suspension setting and drop it down as much as possible. Especially with the Toyo's. They aren't so meaty. That will also help with ride stiffness.

Unfortunately, I just looked at the truck and in that short drop in PSI that I recently did, now they look squishy. Guess that's the trade off. It's also single digits right now so they are pretty cold. It's about time to rotate tires anyways but I wanted to push a little longer on this first time to see any noticeable wear patterns.

    Also, welcome!
