So true. We live out of it about 100 days a year because of my job. This year, combined with some trips my wife has for her grad program, we are scheduled to live out of it for about 130 days

Checking out an old mine in the Inyo Mountains. Inside the cabin was a tag from the Forest Service saying: "36CFR 261.10(b) Residential use of Government Property." It's been many years since someone lived in that cabin.

The decaying bottom station of a mine tram. The top station, with adits, is located up a mile-long trail.

Still a little snowy in there, cool. I love it when the snow contrasts the orange in that location. That little canyon is such a nice, hidden surprise IMO.

I drove some interesting paved Utah roads yesterday. I had no idea that there was a way to drive from Draper to Lindon without going around the point of the mountain. But to your comment, I drove through Levan on my way south and gas was $3.29. Of course I stopped to tank up... and the pumps wouldn't take my debit card. So I tried my credit card... and nope, not that either. I walked in and handed the clerk a fifty dollar bill and asked her to "turn on pump 1"... and she started explaining how that wasn't going to work. So I left without gas and bought it in Salina for $3.49.
