So I already placed the order for the dtlt's, and ill be doing a before/after dyno. I plan to dyno, stock, in the morning, go home, install the LTs, then re-dyno either later that day or the next morning.
Now, here's what I'm thinking. Probably crazy, but I've actually been contemplating buying some shorties and having the cats welded up the day I take the stockers off and then once again, dyno that setup the next day. See which chart fits my needs best and stick w/ that setup.
Sooo, am I totally nuts? I mean, dyno fees are 125/hr (100/hr after the first). So an extra 125 on top of having to pay to have the shorties welded pus what I'm already layin out, and a lot of extra wrench time. There just aren't enough (er, any) charts out there to really show what these give us. Then I guess sell whatever setup I don't stick with.

Go for it! You're right, there isn't much info out there. Someone has to fork over the $ to get these types of results. Can't wait to see the numbers.

Haha, yea, that's the problem though...I figure, id prob have to lay out about an extra 3-400, plus what I lose on selling the extra set.

If I do, i wonder if any locals have test pipes that I can use to get #s for different setups. Like shorty w/ and w/o test pipes, LTs w/ and w/o test pipes.

I don't claim to be an expert on this, but from what I've read on here, our computers don't react to changes that quickly. If you're going for accurate dyno results they should be spaced out to allow the computer to adapt to the new set-up. Again, not an expert, just throwing it out there, hopefully someone who knows the CPU better will chime in.

From my experience, it shouldn't take more than 100-150 miles if any adaption needs to take place. Already took that in to consideration.

However, the problem w/ waiting TOO long iis that skeptics (and possibly for good reason) will argue the difference in weather between days skews results.

I can see the ecu adjusting to a mas/intake/tb/etc change more than an exhaust change though. I think consistency is key though. I can't do an immediate dyno on the LT, but drive the shorties for 2 weeks before doing pulls.

I wouldn't worry too much about the skeptics. It doesn't matter what you do there will always be someone who will tell you what you should have done. Just make sure you use the same dyno.

Damn sounds like fun. You should make a it a TW meet. Would love to see a Taco on the dyno.

Yep, going to use the same shop. Probably using Cartek's dyno. Very knowledgeable group of vette tuners. Not that it matters...theres no tuning going on. Just strapping in and running it :)

Could definitely do that! I just posted up in the NE section to see if anyone had a urd test pipe that I could borrow for testing purposes.
