I financed 13 and some change on my 2011 DC OR, payment is 248.00 with extended warrant, needed to keep the credit score up, no house payment and no credit cards, just need to make more money for mods.

Rule of thumb, for every 15,000 financed would be around 300.00 a month payment with good credit.

If you do that for one cycle you will never make car payments again..Works like friggin magic.

There is no empowerment like walking into a dealership with ONE check in the wallet . . I tell them I only have one check with me (and it's the truth). Whether I decide beforehand or write the check at the dealership, Once it's made out the dealing is done. Once I put the check in a sales manager's hands, (I let him hand it to the F&I guy) they SOLD a car....

If they hand it back, they have to actually "unsell" the "sold" vehicle. This is very hard for them to do if they are making a profit at all. But if they do (it has happened once). I tear it up put it in their trash can, thank them for their time and leave. If they come after me tell them I only had one check write the deal up for that amount and i will bring them another check tomorrow. I know no matter what I say, sign, do in the dealers office I have not bought a car and they have not sold one until the wheels go over the curb...That is why dealers are so in a hurry to get the buyer to take delivery and come back for the "due Bill" stuff. I would never take delivery until the Due bill is finished.

It sucks for the F&I guy because he cannot add anything to the deal without seeking more cash and he has to finagle math to get those inked "Doc fees" to work LOL

But one should never finance the Extended Warranty anyway if they choose to pay for that ripoff because when they wake up and realize they want their $1500 back because they found Troy or decided they don't need it.....they can get a check back and not have it sent to the bank which won't lower their payments.

If I do my homework well and don't overvalue my trade (which is where many deals go bad) I will make a fair offer and 99% of the time andl drive out with the title in hand. I Don't fall in love with the vehicle. There are thousands to choose from new or used. I never traded a car I owed money on...That is potentially financial suicide.

I'm in this boat- I pay an extra 150 a month on top of my 360 something...Lowest required payment you can negotiate on a the shortest term you can get...and then add on top of that.

Over $500.00/month? Definitely shows a young audience here.

Is that your minimum payment or the actual payment you are making?? Cause that shit is higher than my mortgage....

^ Yeah, that would mean he paid well over 40K for that truck, not counting interest. That's over 47k with interest at 1.9%

Yeah...I didn't even do that math. Like I said...I bought a 160K house and my mortgage is about 300 less than that truck payment. Blows my mind.

Mine was around $380/month, but I paid around $450/month for the first 9 months on a 36 month loan, then paid it all off due to some weird circumstances:D

My money down was 2000 Plymouth Neon with 158k miles, numerous mechanical issues they gave me $1200 for it. I pay $250/month on 75month loan with 7% apr. Yes its not great, but I needed a truck, low monthly payment and I am young so to get 7% apr I thought wasn't horrible.

Between 200-250 a month (used to be 200 max, but times change). And it's never a new/used vehicle loan but a home equity loan so it's tax deductible. and credit card balance gets zeroed every month.

I have no payments on my 2010 Tacoma...No payments on wife's 2006 Accord...I have no mortgage as we recently sold our home...I have land bought & paid for to build on...I have cash to build the new home...We have no credit card balances...we have zero debt...I sleep well this way.

But, then...I'm old and have busted ballz for 40 years to get here...

Good luck to you young fellas...save, and spend wisely.

That is exactly where we were 5 years ago..sold out in Las Vegas, We took advantage of the housing bubble and decided to cash out and move here 10 years early an built a home on property bought an paid for in the 90's here . Banked the excess then used the following recession to build up our retirement funds as well when the market turned positive 18 months ago.
Cash an carry. The biggest expenses we have now are insurances to protect assets. They get ya one way or another LOL

Then again I never bought less than a 2 year old car until two years ago when I bought a Honda Accord thinking I would keep it forever (and will never do that again). I got the new car smell thing out of my system. As for "monthly payments" never agion until they sell 2 year old vehicles at 0% when pig's fly.
