All TRD trims have the “premium” bezel as far as I know. Maybe SR5 too?

Yep I installed in my ‘18 Sport without replacing my bezel. Should be the same for your OR I believe.

I can only speak for the Entune 2.0 (2016-2019) but yes, all the TRD models have the premium bezel with the larger opening that will fit the 6600 without any modifications. SR and SR5 have the smaller opening which is why I had to get the new/premium bezel.

SR5 here. Mine has the larger bezel due to having the Rear Parking Sensor and Nav package.

Hi all, first post here. I have a 2022 TRD sport with JBL. I did the WT7600 (got a great deal on the 7600 from a friend that works at best buy) upgrade because it looked amazing and everyone said it was a huge improvement over stock head unit soundwise, while it looks great the sound quality is actually worse than the stock system now. Didn't change anything besides the head unit and the maestro. I've played around with the settings a bunch and have been able to make it a little better, but still not even back to stock. Has anyone else had this issue? I tried looking but didn't see anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can anyone with JBL confirm where the RCAs are supposed to plug into on the head unit? Am I just using the front speaker out? Does the JBL amp redirect to the correct speakers from there? I am very new to car audio so any help is greatly appreciated on getting this thing to sound at least as good as it did stock.

Changing the head unit on the JBL doesn't do anything but give you more radio features. It doesn't change the sound because the head unit only sends a signal to the JBL amp which does all the work. You would need to change out the amp with a better aftermarket amp to get any noticeable improvement with the aftermarket head unit.

Unfortunately the JBL system is much harder to upgrade because you have to either keep the stock head unit and use something like a PAC Amp Pro to replace the amp and then replace all the speakers that can then handle the power from the new amp or replace everything including the head unit.

Your options are basically put the stock head unit back in or replace the JBL amp and more than likely the speakers and the sub.

Hopefully someone with the JBL system can jump in and correct me if I am wrong.

This is a thread from last year and @destin_meeks answers the question relating to the stock JBL head unit.

I am running into the same issue. How did you go about finding/sourcing the premium bezel?

Yeah a free 6600 would definitely make it nicer! I have a friend at Toyota so will see if he can get me a premium panel down the road. In the mean time my multi-tool and dremel just got some play. Not perfect but it took 10 minutes and could do it now.

I just finished the install today of the Pioneer. I also installed a small 75W amp, Kicker component system in the front and Kickers in the rear of the double cab. I bought everything from Crutchfield. My first amp was DOA and when the replacement showed up, I finished everything. Night and day difference between the OEM setup. I am not an audiophile but I couldn't stand how bad the factory system was.

I had the non-JBL with 6" screen. I could not find a used premium bezel anywhere so I ordered one from a local Toyota dealer. They said it would be at the dealer tomorrow. I paid $240ish for it. Right now, I am running around without the bezel.

One thing I did that I didn't see anywhere in this thread (unless I missed it) was instead of drilling the bottom hole in lower part of the OEM bracket, I made a slot so I could more precisely move the face plate on an arc and more importantly, in case I messed up the drilling of the hole. I made the slot with a Milwaukee grinder and a cut off wheel.

Looks like firmware version 3.0 is out. Anybody have any luck or notice major changes?
