Got a phone call from Penske telling me the shock I sent in was on the bench and being worked on. They're recommending one step up heavier spring for my 2-up travels and replacing the bottom clevis as a warranty even though the one on it isn't broken or cracked. Said they're doing that on all of the FJR rear shocks as a preventative measure after a couple have cracked under use. My bill should be around $315 so added to the eBay purchase price has me at just under $600 for a $1150 rear shock that'll be freshly reworked and ready to roll. Guess this weekend will be rear suspension service and shock install!

Sounds like you need to trade it for an Africa Twin

Bruh it's 11 degrees out haha I'm not hitting dirt for at least another week and a half. This cold snap sucks. Plus I've already made I think 5 Navi videos? Working on another tonight.

we are going back to cold weather too. Spring isnt here yet.

Side note, what gloves are you using for summer? My hands are in between a L and XL. I like the fit on my Rev'It gloves, but they dont make the model anymore. My Moose Racing ones I think are good for fall and colder temps, or 40-60. Im thinking about Alpinestars Shore for a summer/light weight glove. I dont need waterproof.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
I've always thought 65 degrees was perfect riding temp.

I've been using Klim Dakar Pro's for the last three or four years 9 mo/yr. Super hot days they get a little warm, they're mostly leather instead of textile, but they're a good 3 season glove for sure. Looks like they have a newer model.

I do have a hold developing in the tip of one of my thumbs, so I'm on the lookout for something new for this summer, too.

Due to the almost constant and cool wind here I find that 80 on the dot I can still stay relatively not that sweaty. 65 tends to seem pretty cold around these parts. My riding gear isn’t cold weather stuff though. I’m talking casual attire.

My best bikes, Honda 305 Scrambler traded for 2 "lids" of green stuff. Honda 450K4 rebuilt from the ground up, Triumph Trophy 500 single "Fonzy bike" purchased for $500. I could kick myself for ever selling the Triumph. Live and learn...

Man, you all had decent riding weather today. I rode to work this morning with a temp of 2 degrees and a windchill at 12 below. Same again tomorrow. This weekend it will be near 60 again.

Last week we had both a 75 degree day and 9 inches of snow. Got to love the plains states.

With gas prices going up it’s only a matter of time before I am commuting on the Grom.

I don't know how much i pay per gallon. Usually just look at the total. For the bike it's generally under $15, so i don't even notice

Today is not an improvement. I have 14 hours at work today, maybe it will be better on the ride home.
