    PE is really all that matters, but you need 5 years in your field & the FE done.

    Wife paid 60 some odd dollars just to fill up the lancer with its pathetically small 13 gallon tank.

    @Empty_Lord @Speedytech7 1uz non vvti heads on a 2uz non vvti?

    I know the exhaust manifolds stock on my ls400 have a much larger diameter than the 2uz tundra exhaust manifolds... 1uz heads flow better?

    I dunno dude, the 2UZ doesn't even make my list of engines I give two shits about. It's very lackluster in all aspects. 1UZ and 3UZ are where it's at.

    dont even waste your time on non VVTI. do a 3uz swap with a 2005+ GS430 ECM and a 4.6l tundra 6 speed auto (you will need the gs430 bellhousing though). Boom, 6th gear, extra O.D over my 5 speed auto for better MPGs and you can run pretty hot gears in it without hurting highway driving and making around 300hp

    What's it's problem the way I see it the 2uzs problem are the heads that restrict it and the cams that are for low end tq and nothing else

    Yeah, it’s the extra thiccness that might be nice on occasion.

    Sorta think instead of getting a bigger mig, I might just get a decent stick welder for the heavy stuff. Haven’t done stick since jr high so that would be an adventure.

    Just remember, 6010 for some real penetration. Dirty as hell though but used for your thick stuff, specifically for root passes. 6011 is much nicer and easier to run however. 6013 is used for the really thin stuff.

    For hot passes, or just fusing metals together that require less strength and not so much penetration, you can go with 70xx rods. Way easier to run and manipulate and the slag just pops off.
