Does anyone have a set of Prinsu Toprac mounts they are not using? Building a DIY Prinsu-like topper rack and would like to obtain these mounts. I could always buy from Prinsu, but figured someone may have a set not being used they would be willing to sell shipped for less than Prinsu. PM me.

Looks like no one responded; been there..

I don't have any mounts to offer, but did build a DIY prinsu inspired topper rack with 80/20 extrusion and aluminum sides, and could possibly help here. I thought about just buying prinsu mounts, but after more and more thinking, I felt I could DIY some mounts super easily and extremely cheap; as an added bonus, I felt the DIY mounts would support weight a little more safely. I basically got some steel square tube (may have been 1.25 or 1.5", dont remember), chopped it to length, cut some angles off the top (final piece looking like a trapezoid), drilled some holes for yakima/thule track bolts in the bottom, drilled some holes for bolts to mount to crossbars, and mounted it up! Going this route, I ended up with 6 mounts, so 3 crossbars support the entire rack, but you could do as many as you want technically, and its fairly cheap to do.

Indeed no one but you. Thank you :)

Another member did identical to your method. This is my other option. Did you encounter the gap as seen with the Prinsu mounts where folks use stacked washers to correct? How did you remedy if you did notice it?

I'm not sure what you're referring to to be completely honest, so don't wanna assume I know what you're talking about. But if you're talking about the top rack not being level with the cab rack, that'd be quite the possibility if I had a cab rack lol. That being said, sounds like a small spacer like a washer could alleviate that if so. Doesn't sound like there's a flooding of sellers with mounts hitting you up though, so might be worth giving it a try while you wait! You could always upgrade down the road if you're unhappy with your results, but I mean you've got a DIY rack; might as well DIY your mounts and be extra proud when you show off your hard work! Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any questions about how exactly I did mine, and I can probably go grab some measurements to figure out what exactly I used. Its been quite a while since I made the rack, but its still holding up extremely well!
