Everything on the table is new, including the hubs.

Yes. Very easily this can happen and 90% of the time is why I have to replace bearings at work after someone DIYs them

 

New Falken Wildpeaks, mounted up a Lightforce bar and Baja Designs fogs, and found a nicer OEM grille for the 95. Also did a bunch of touch up on the paint behind the bumper while it was off. Waiting on a winch still. Might start dabbing up a rear bumper next.

 

How tight does that have to be? I've always just impacted mine and never had a problem

 

Anything over 300 ft lbs tears bearings up pretty quick. The torque sets the preload. Too much preload you get issues

 

Took the transfer case apart today to try and determine what was happening with that noise. Bearing for that 4WD output shaft seems fine. Spins freely with no visual issues.

Noise (additional video below) is definitely from the chain, just not sure if its expected or not (especially with no oil in the case). Chain is not loose and does not appear to have excessive play. At this point, going to replace the Type T Oil seals as well as the smaller oil seals and just go with it.

Now that I'm looking at it more, I wonder if it could be this bearing (inboard) - havent drilled down that far yet.

hm that sounds like a bearing failing to me. Could be the more inboard bearings.

how about more pics of the outside. 120k miles aint nothing. The piston rings most likely haven't been broken in yet.

I want to say potential brake issue... Check the dustshield make sure its not slightly contacting. After that, I would check pads and rotor - all look ok?
Did you check your lockouts for smooth operation?
Why would you think bearing? Aftermarket bearings?
Did you do the presswork or a shop?

I can definitely hear it towards the end of your video. I know how that goes when you have undiagnosed noise issues, sucks. Hopefully can resolve easily.
