I looked at the one in my '19 4Runner.
    Ends with -- 35012.
I looked it up. Obsolete, and not even original to my year. Or, am I wrong?
    That upgrade looks good.
We used the Garmin on our trip to Savannah last week. And paper maps, of course!!!

Yuck it up Project Boy, JK, The Avalon came with the nav radio and this was a low-cost update to the maps. In today's world why you would use anything other than Waze could be a mistake.

The part number I used was Part Number 86271-0E0732 says it replace part number 35012. The micro-SD card does have an official looking Toyota lettering and sticker. Bought from this seller on eBay: Update 2021 TOYOTA Navigation Micro SD Card LATEST UPDATE OEM 86271 0E072 USA | eBay I was willing to take the risk for $42.

I have an appointment with the eye doctor this morning to start the Cataract removal process. I hope the cost of corrective Lasak to help me see better is not too costly. My new phone is supposed to be delivered today, we will see.

    And today is

(The warmest it will be!) Ah, the end of a Texas winter!

Well, Tom. The RAV4 NAV was supposed to be CLOUD maps. They were supposed to be FREE. They were supposed to be USER ACCESSIBLE. And DEALERS are supposed to know SOMETHING about their product. They proved to be none of these. And our phones are not huge, so the Garmins remain a great package.

Have a great Hump day everyone!

Shoveled about four inches of good snowball making white stuff off the sidewalk, vehicles, and some of the driveway. Nice to have this precip and wish it was more. Hopefully the mountains surrounding got ten feet, but more likely about the same, or maybe as much as double, what we got on the valley floor. Beautiful outside and not that cold. Shoveled in a t-shirt. We'll get some warmer weather this weekend and the snow will be gone.

That's a lotta mulch, Kurt. What happened to last year's load? Haha

Scrapped TurboTax, too many errors, too many pop-up offers to refuse, their whole screen format is just "wrong" IMO.
Freezing rain predicted, so went to town to pick up some more ice melt, and to have a nice breakfast. Noticed Jackson-Hewitt across the street. As luck would have it, I had all our tax stuff in the car. Bingo! An hour later, taxes done and filed. Well worth $179! Hell, a good night's sleep is worth that much.

I'm still on TurboTax although next year I might try alternatives; this year I just need to get to the finish line. In the case of my mom's final tax return that means figuring out how to take a NINETEEN PAGE 1099 that I have on paper, and digitize it. (After my experiences over the past year there is NO WAY IN HOCKEY STICKS that I am going to rely on ANYTHING sent by postal mail to the IRS.) I found an online tool that will do OCR on a picture and spit out an Excel file, so I sent it a pic of one of the pages and it did a pretty good job. Then it has to be converted into .TXF format so that TurboTax will swallow it. Online tool to the rescue again. I have 3 pages in so far, double-checking totals and they match up. I'm rather pleased with myself. :transformer:

On other fronts, the Taco nearly came to the rescue of an F350 Crew Cab stuck in my neighbor's 'yard' last night. Not sure we actually could have done it, but the arrival of a tow truck + professional extractor-of-large-stuck-things made the question moot. It was fun watching the guy work his magic.

Do you like the new navigation?
I am not a fan of the 'current' navigation. But, if the upgrade you got is the same, but newer, I will have second thoughts.
    Thanks.

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!

55 when I work up yesterday, 20 this morning, snow and freezing rain coming late tonight into tomorrow - the beginning of Spring in PA. We are supposed to have a new dryer delivered tomorrow - old one shit the bed on Saturday - but I'm guessing that isn't going to happen.

Looks like our 3 bee colonies may just make it through the winter - all 3 had activity with the 50s temps the last few days. Yesterday was wild - went out to fill the bird feeders we have in the front yard for the winter and the regular seed feeder was covered in honey bees. Over the course of the day they swarmed it constantly and pretty much emptied it. With the warm temps and lack of other food, they will go after whatever they can find.

    Stay safe!

:oops: I have 2 Garmin's in my truck gathering dust. I use the traffic one every now and then. need to update the maps in both of them. Both have lifetime maps.

Seems to work well. I will give it a real workout the next two weeks. We leave for Florida tomorrow.

Went to the eye doctor yesterday. Surgery is set for April 18th on the first eye. Gong to fix a stigmatism and correct my distant vision. I will still need glasses for reading. Cost, out of pocket, is $2500 per eye. 0% financing for 18 months works for me.

    Have a great day everyone.

Hi Tom, I had the same issue with my right eye and opted to go with the corrective lens for the stigmatism. I was very disappointed as my vision in that eye was only mildy corrected. I should have saved $2500 and gone with the standard lens. When I complained about the vision issue I was told I had 3 options. Wear glasses again, get contacts or laser surgery. I opted for glasses reluctantly. Do some research on the lens they are going to use. I did after the fact and it had only a 90% correction rate. I fell in the 10%. Just my opinion. Have a safe trip to Florida and enjoy

:pccoffee: Ggggggggggoood Morning PPppooorch Ppeoples! All the way up to 30* this AM! At least it just stuck at 29* over night. Two more days of ugly before we get back to normal. Having grown up in Michigan, and traveled a great many winters - could be a LOT worse!

Shredded some papers, sorted some photos yesterday. Might be a similar day today. Have a great one everyone!

Send them this way -- my wife still uses the one we got 10+ years ago. Can't talk her into using the phone instead.

Good luck! Let us know how it plays out. The worst part for me was the time between surgeries, one eye working one way and the other working another. Then there was another waiting period before I could get a new prescription for both eyes. Drove me a little batty.

As I noted earlier I wasn't a candidate for upgraded lenses and had to go with the stockers. One year in and my distance vision is great; I can drive without corrective lenses now, with the dash a bit foggy but readable. I still use glasses for computer/reading.

One kinda neat thing I recently figured out is that I can use drug store cheaters with pretty decent results. I had bought a couple pairs for that awkward in between time of the process and it's nice to get some use out of them again. I put them on when I'm working on the car, which means no more trying to look through a specific part of the lens when I'm standing on my noggin in a footwell or trying to peer around an exhaust pipe from under the car. :woot:

    I

I wish I could say my distance sight is good Dave. That is the complaint I had. I will go to another eye surgeon and see what they say. Left eye is good with standard lens but right eye is bad causing me to wear glasses again:annoyed:. Still need cheaters for reading though.
