Hi all new to the forum. Just purchased a 2022 Tacoma TRD OR. Switched from a 3rd gen 4runner. Wondering if the 2021 version of the softopper would work for the 22 model Tacoma. Contacted the company and they said they weren’t sure. Haven’t gotten around to measuring the new trucks yet.
Also if anyone is running this set up pictures would be awesome.

    Any help would be appreciated.

First off - welcome! It absolutely will - no changes in that regard from 21 to 22. As long as it’s short box to short box, long to long you’re GTG. :)

Thanks I appreciate it, do you have any experience with softoppers?

I was going to purchase one but found a nearly new hard shell 15 miles away and decked out / color matched just as if I’d ordered it for less $ than the soft topper, so that’s the direction I went!

Do you have the 3rd brake light mod done ? Not sure what laws are in California but I’m seriously considering getting one.

I sure did the third brake light mod. You need it driving in Heavy NJ commuter traffic.

I also run the Meso Customs brake/turn signal light system.

What brake light did you use for the softopper ?
I’m pretty mechanically inclined. But not so much with electrical lol is it tough ? Any specific instructions to follow ?

I called Bestop/Softopper and ordered their 3rd brake light kit. It was $27.95 plus shipping. It's suppose to come with everything you need.

I bought the Softopper for my soon to be delivered 22 Pro. I liked the look of it better than the Bestop.

Don't splice your harness, I think @Puppypunter makes a breakout harness for the 3rd brake. I get those wiring guys confused so sorry if I'm wrong haha.

Welcome to to the high life op.

BT bought ST maybe a year (?) ago. Again, see that monster thread I linked. Lots of third brake light options in there.

Edit, I see you posted in there.

Op, I also just bought a 22 taco and I have found that everything I bought so far says 16-21 and it all fits on my 22. So I’d be willing to bet that 99% of stuff made for the 21 will also fit the 22.
