But true ground clearance, not the a suspension lift that leaves the pumpkin in the same spot. HMMV`s have them, thats why their grou d clearance is so high.
If you build it, they will come...

Small stuff but not for long!
    IT guy by day figured this might help some people out, I just broadcasted to my company;;

Some news out of the Microsoft 20H2 world for those of you that use fast boot. Microsoft has implemented a new kernel update that deems a shutdown to be not as good as a restart.
    What does that mean?
Shutdown takes a quick image snapshot of your preferences and settings (known as hiberfil.sys files) and on the next boot it will load them exactly as they were. (temp files and all)
Any problems that you were having will still be there when you switch it back on, this includes slowness.
    What Restart Does
Restart does a whole lot more than shutdown. A restart will clear the memory, it’ll refresh the Kernel, it’ll reset the cache, it’ll complete pending updates.
It will fix problems, whereas shutdown simply copies them to flash memory so that your problems load quickly the next time you turn your device on.
    Conclusion In Non Technical Terms
Shutdown = Kick your problem down the road and have to deal with it tomorrow.
Restart = Allow Windows to properly fix stuff.

I am actually thinking about taking off my rear cap with rack to save weight. I am heavy as it is.

Might not make a difference. You get lighter but you get less aerodynamic. For stop and go, it may help but highway and back road driving, it may actually hurt you. I actually got better MPG's when I put the cap on all my vehicles.

REVISITED: It is more fuel efficient to drive your pick-up truck with its tailgate down, rather than up. (From episode 43)
    RE-BUSTED

Using a calibrated fuel flow gauge, Adam and Jamie first re-busted the tailgate up vs. down myth, then went on to test various other truck configurations (hard top, mesh tailgate, no tailgate).

    https://mythresults.com/episode64

Long of the short - open bed with a mesh net is the most efficient way. Although I think they did a tonneau cover not a cap.

Never did this on either truck, but I gotta think in general the Tacoma bed is less of a drag than my Colorado was. I say that b/c things would fly around all the time in that truck but not this one.

Yeah, I remember that episode. There are too many factors to consider though to make a carte blanche statement though. Different trucks have different aerodynamic properties, crew cab vs. standard cab, flush tonneau, raised tonneau, raised cap, cab-hi cap, is the rear squared off or sloped. My Ferds and my Tacoma all did better with the cap on vs. the tonneau covers.

    Two part post….

    1) Am I the only person who actually pays for “Route Protection” when ordering from R4T?

    2) I have an access cab (because they rule) and ordered a set of MESO Gen 3 door handle covers. The AC option was sold out, so I bought the DC option and have a set that I am willing to give to a fellow 3rd Gen AC owner. Simply reply “in” with a pic of your ACLB and I’ll PM you for pick up details. 6A5468F3-BF10-4B51-846A-F54ECBB226E6.jpg3A553A37-82A5-44EF-BF0B-6BAAFAAAA0B6.jpg

Tacoma gets better mpg over the road, with the softopper. Than just the tonneau, or open bed. Enough to matter.... over a 5k road trip... yes, it does. Otherwise... nah.
I don't even look when filling the 1 ton
