What is the price? I don't see anything in that article or in this thread. If it was truly dollar for dollar the same price I'd definitely strongly consider it. I'm guessing the Ranger will be much more.

No manual which is a knock but with that power I'd take an auto. It will be interesting to see the numbers for the 4th Gen Tacoma though.

Considering the Bronco Raptor is listed as starting at $68000, I don't think the TRD Pro and a Ranger Raptor are going to be in the same price category. The Ranger Raptor will come in lower than the Bronco, but not $20k less.

That's one heck of a screen. That I wouldn't use I've driven vehicles with decent sized screens, I don't use them for anything. Other than what can't be controlled elsewhere on the vehicle and the occasional gps look up.

If Toyota, or any manufacturer built a vehicle today, preferably a truck. With out a screen, that is what I would buy.

Eh, rather build a Titan swapped Frontier with the 5.6L and 6MT. This fancy new stuff is cool in theory but I'll never be able to justify these rich guy toys. ~$60k+ CAD for a midsize, nah I'm good.

    Better question...
Why come to a gen 3 forum to read about a not yet available truck that is likely to compete with another unavailable truck?

I think it looks awesome, and sounds like it’ll be a beast! That said, I can’t see pricing starting lower than mid-high 50’s, given the fact that the Bronco Raptor which it shares a lot with starts in the high 60’s.

Also, I’ve heard Ford dealers are pretty bad about marking up the F150 raptors. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same case with these unless they just produce a ton of them?

    1. No way a Ranger Raptor will be only $50k
    2. No manual transmission
    3. Yes the Tacoma is a bit underpowered but I like it because it's a dinosaur and a bit dated.

Right, I went to see what the price was going to be but nothing about that. Highly highly doubt this will be in the same price range. Pretty misleading here, people will buy the TRD pro because it is substantially cheaper

Probably to talk truck shit with people who like trucks. I would guess most taco enthusiasts have already talked any immediately family to death about them.

Man, it was funny, but somehow I think it was 10 minutes to long. I made it to 6:55 and could take no more.

As for the Foranger, I certainly would entertain one over any other mid size american truck. GM is trash and Mopar is mostly old parts and rust.
I do like the power, however, I would like to know if this new lockered front dif is 7.5" like the Chevy/gmc? The Chevy is having issues with breaking diffs. The taco trdOR/PRO has an 8 inch front diff. Like the Bronco. I would feel more comfortable adding a locker to a taco than a smaller diff'd truck.

If the Ranger Raptor is indeed priced similarly to the Tacoma Pro AND the Tacoma doesn't have a turbo (or two) then yes I agree that Ford is going to gain market share. The 4th gen is coming and I hope Toyota is going to up the power.

Imo it's pretty dumb that the Tacoma premium model and base model have the same engine, transmission and hp/tq output. A couple badges and electronic gizmos ain't worth 20k to me Toyota. I'm a fan but get your power numbers up. If you have to offer a 2nd engine so that the fleet EPA numbers get met then I think Toyota is going to have to spend that money to remain on top.

For a lot of people this isn't just a side note, but one of the main reasons for buying a Tacoma. Balancing reliability with capability is what I think Toyota does best.

I agree Toyota HAS done a great job with that balance. But Ford's getting better with the reliability and if one premium model truck is spanking the other premium model truck by 3 seconds 0-60 then someone's gonna have a problem. (Lotsa IFs in this post and the entire thread.)
