Thought I was close to done with this then the customer changed some stuff on it. I do like prototype work though

 

i knew a guy that got his butt reamed on the phone because he bought a .50 cent hotdog for lunch

 

New customer just came by and wants to know if we can weld this square and round up and remachine it. I said welding it won’t be a problem, holding it will be.

Yep...everyone was like wtf!

 

My wife makes more than double what I do so I usually feel a bit guilty when I want something that's just for me and feel the need to justify it. Things like my road bike, 3D printer, etc. 99% of the time, she doesn't care enough to even discuss it at length. She just asks why I haven't bought it yet.

That said, if I was going out for pizza or buying lunch on campus, she couldn't care less. She'd probably be mad if I asked her if I could.

Just checking in with an update. Milling machine still has the same mess from last week? Or the week before?

 

I'm just trying to leave it until he needs to use it again, so when he goes "why is it such a mess?!" I can helpfully point out he used it last.

 

Well actually Tommy, you used it 3 weeks 4 days and 6 hours ago, not that I'm counting. It's not fun having to clean up after someone else before you can do work is it?

Is it possible to just cut that end off make a whole new piece bore far enough into the existing piece and weld the new piece in?

That is how I would approach that problem. Unless it rotates at high rpm.
