Who is the go-to dealer now for factory parts? No longer Gary at Camelback?

I've also purchased from them. But they're on the other side of the country from me and sometimes I need the stuff quicker than 3000 miles away.

I was just wondering if there was still a resident go-to guy like gunny1005 used to be. Great prices, great service and fast shipping.

I don’t believe we have any official dealer parts vendors.

i’m surprised at that. Unless there is some sort of prohibition from a corporate standpoint, I would think a dealer could make a lot of money being the official parts department of Tacoma world, or at least a sponsor.

We used to have one on each of the sites but it always seems to fizzle out and the reps disappear. We don’t even charge vendors to be on the site. Other forums charge for vendor status or sponsorship.

We don’t have a go to dealer for parts, if you scroll through the vendor list you’d be hard pressed to find a dealer.

No prohibition against a franchise as that’s what Toyota dealers are, they aren’t corporate Toyota. Also, TW isn’t sponsored by any vendor or dealer and isn’t a for profit site which allows discretion on whom is allowed to be a vendor on TW.

Well that explains a lot. I could have sworn Camelback Toyota used to be on here with a contact for discounts. No wonder they wouldn't budge on the TRD catback price when I called them last week. They were the highest quote out of all my local dealers too. $740ish plus tax. :facepalm:Guess I'll be keeping the factory exhaust for a while longer.

Is this the same Roseville Toyota that's putting a $10,000 Market Adjustment on their RAV4's just like the one I bought yesterday down here without one?

    Asking for a friend. :anonymous:

Market adjustment is a joke. When I bought my STI back in 2015 they had a market adjustment of $11k on it and I laughed and started walking out the door. Needless to say, they didn’t charge that.

I agree with "Joke". I didn't fall for that on my TRD 6 months ago but now, different game. Not sure about this Roseville but that adjustment is way over the top compared to every dealer I've seen. I did have to pay one yesterday. My car was on the lot for hours and I was the first one to look at it and test drive it. I tried to beat the shit out of them on the $3000 (2k lower then other dealer in county) adjustment and the sales manager came to talk to me personally and said if they aren't budging on that any longer and the car would be gone by morning if I didn't take it. I knew he was right because 4 days prior, I missed the identical car after leaving to get my wife 20 minutes away! :D

It's nuckin future out there. $10k is just plain sickening.

Unfortunately folks nowadays don't have that luxury of walking and instead must pay (they have no choice, really) whatever the dealer is asking because heaven forbid their friends & neighbors see them in a vehicle over 3 years old or one that doesn't have the latest color & technology package.

I get most of my parts (or failing that price matching to take to a local dealer counter) from Olathe Toyota.

Shipping is fast, packaging is excellent, and the counter guy there is super helpful.

On a RAV4 it's certainly crazy. My Toyota dealership around here has nothing but RAV4s on the lot. I bought a '21 Supra at the end of '20. There were two on the way - a special edition an a regular one. They had a $10k markup on the special edition version, which I can in some ways understand. A very limited number of them were produced. I just didn't pay it and bought the other one. But a $10k market adjustment on a regular ol' RAV4? Insane. I don't know where you are in relation to Central KY, but if you're close, PM me and I can put you in touch with a great dealership (great service department as well) and a salesman who won't try and screw you. I play poker with the finance manager, so you'll just need to tell them I sent ya.

I'm out here in Lala Land. Coast of CA. In 20 years, if I'm still driving, or ALIVE, I'll cruise on over and see ya in KY. I should be in Tennessee by that point. I'm DONE buying cars with a Taco and RAV purchase within 6 months of each other. :D
