Lucky just the bumper got messed up. The lady that hit me said she's willing to pay for a new one instead of going through insurance.

Are there any good after market bumpers around 350-400?

Or should I just let insurane deal with it?

Don;t run it through insurance or it nay show up on Carfax from a clue report. Shop for a bumper take the money and be done with it.

IIRC, MSRP on a new bumper is $500-$600. I'm pretty sure you can get get a pretty good aftermarket bumper for that much. Either that or, look for someone on here that's selling their OEM one for cheap, then just pocket the rest.

Price bumper from dealer and charge her that price plus install and tax. (out of pocket cost) Then shop around.

Do you have a police report? I would go through her insurance to have it settled. I really hope she's good on her word because she can bail and there's no recourse to make her pay, especially if there's no police or insurance report.

I got rear ended and was in the same boat. Guy offered to pay it instead of insurance. Bumper IIRC was 700 by the book. Paint and installed was around 900. Luckily enough the body shop (who knew the guy personally) was the local toyota collision center and handled it well. Walked out without even having to sign a paper.

Good, there might be more damage hidden you can't easily see. It could have bent and shifted the mounting points ect... it'd suck to find out after buying the new bumper that there's damage behind it you didn't know about.
