I bought this Tacoma with a 2" leveling kit with add a leaf's I thought were making it stiff. Bought truck, replaced everything, including LTs, also what I thought was making it stiff.
Now Im thinking of getting 1.5" spacers in the front and calling it a day. It bounces so much I couldnt use it for work.

Iv read what most people do, remove the S*&(

The only rough country thing I own is their portable fire pit. Its beefy but it does the job.

I wouldnt let a RC suspension anywhere near my truck however.

Its a 2012 reg cab 2.7 4x4 manual. Light. The problem cant be with the rear as the truck came with 1 inch blocks and stupid country was 2". I think its the 3" pucks in the front. So going to a spring (coil over) and strut (5100) or different spring, I just dont know what to do.
Iv heard I can go up to 1.75 " on the hockey pucks before it effects ride so I might do that.

A regular cab will be stiff. After all it is a truck. Have you owned a Toyota before? These trucks don't ride as smooth as a Chevy or Ford.

What you can do is upgrade your springs to OME maybe 882's. Should be softer than your stock Toyota springs.
Springs make it stiff. Shocks control rebound.

Spacers will make it harsh only if you are over extending your suspension. Normal driving it will work as it should.

My 2013 reg cab had OME 885 springs up front for around 3" of lift and add-a-leafs in the rear. It was pretty stiff but I'm used to stiff trucks so it didn't bother me. If you go with a new spring/shock you want something softer. Do a search on here for the 882 and 883 springs and you might find some other guys with regular cabs who ended up with the ride they liked. But the add-a-leafs in the rear will make the rear bounce around a lot more vs a full spring upgrade or taller blocks.

A taller spring makes the most sense. I looked into springs 885 is for 2nd gen I think and 882 and 883 for that too?
Truck is also 1,000 pounds more. Oh we have pot holes ever where, imagine running over a base ball bat all the time.

Ok so Im going to take out the spacers and replace with eibach 2.5 inch pro lift springs.
Now to think of replacing struts when Im in there. But this will solve the problem of it driving like a log truck?

First thing you should do is sit down & really think what you want the end results to be. Be honest with yourself. Sounds like you want a small amount of lift (2" maybe?) and I'm guessing it's because you like how it looks?

If you want to spend $0 then go remove the front 3" pucks, rear take out the blocks and AAL. Boom! you are back to stock suspension and it will ride better. Even better would be to watch the classified section and buy some 3rd gen OEM take-offs so you have fresh factory parts on the cheap.

If you want to do a budget lift (this is what I'm thinking you want), then go buy some Bilstein 5100's for up front and set the desired lift height clips. Get matching 5100's for the rear. I'd throw away your existing block/AAL and get the Headstrong 3 leaf AAL as it seems to get decent reviews but that's just what I've read. Full leaf packs will be better but cost more.

If you want to move towards something that will actually perform, next step up is something like Bilstein 6112 up front, 5100 or 5160 rear, and get a full replacement leaf pack like the Icon RXT. I'd get a set of UCAs too for the front at this point (SPC or JBA, both good). Costs more but now you are in the ballpark of doing it the actual "right" way.

Above that, sky is the limit. If you've got $$$$ there are many more ways to spend it. Search the forums, someone has done every option you can dream of but it takes some searching. Good luck.

Thanks. Yea I just want it to ride at the hight it is normally. Sure its for looks but its for clearance for snow and visibility I like too.
I just thought I could replace the 3" piece of aluminum junk with spring and have an appropriate spring rate. Like the Old man Emu 2" or
Eibach 2.5 inch springs. Sorry stuck in this font.

Yes this is what I want to do. Ill get the 5100's, 884 or 885 springs and a 1/4" drivers spacer for lean. Im guessing that will give me close to 2.5 inches of lift with good suspension. I just got brand new toyota leaf packs in the rear and the factory 1" block with RC 1" block that I could take out and put in AAL's that I have. Has RC shocks in rear now. But all of that I would transition to 5100'a. Thats good info thanks. Contacted headstrong, yea Im stopping at the UCA thats where I draw the line, unless they break..

After buying my 2019 Tacoma I thought I would just spend the least amount of money and put on some rough country 2” spacers. After 2500 miles I realized I had made a big mistake. Although even with installation I was only in the hole $500 I should have done it right the first time. I was getting a bad vibration around 30-40 mph which conveniently is the speed around the city on every damn road. The suspension geometry was terrible. The tires were toed in and hitting potholes, speed bumps, or turning into steep drives was dangerous. I just got a new suspension installed this weekend and couldn’t be more pleased. Feels like a capable truck should ride. It’s firm yet rides very well. You feel in control of the vehicle. Went with JBA uca‘s. Bilstein 5100s set at zero. OME 885 coils. And I also replaced the needle bearing with the east coast gear supply bushing. Cost me a lot more than the rough country lift but man it rides great now. Zero vibration. Very nice ride in town and on highway.

Ah if only I knew the right way to do it as above. 5100 on order, 884's and will do the bushing.
Yea mine is riding just like you described, horrible. Seems like an easy fix and glad some one did it from the same set up I had also from RC. UCA maybe not necessary for me, nice you did them.

    Wheres the rust?

Hard to say what made my ride so much better since I did it all together. You will be happy with the 884’a hopefully mine settles just a touch because I’m sitting just about 1/4 higher in the front with the 885s.

Its that sweet spot of not needing uca, although you have them, the chart is showing 3" with the 885's for yours.
I just cant wait to get the geometry cleared up nice to hear that was the issue for you. Strut assemblies are often 300 each so this upgrade isnt that bad. Mines an RC so a little unclear as to how it will settle. Its really not fair you post pics like that, no rust, clean undercarriage. LT's arnt to hard of a ride?
