might be the wrong thread for this but anyone have any tips on how to get the Catalyst monitor ready to read for smog? been googling drive cycles and nothing has worked yet. replaced the battery a couple months ago and have easily put 500 miles or more in driving.

are you 4x4? Find a trail and drive it around in 4lo for awhile. Dump a bottle of Cataclean in the fuel tank. I put nearly 1200 miles on mine before it set and that was what did the trick.

Work camps do have a place in society. Theyve just been used for all the wrong reasons in the past.

I hear in Japan they slurp on purpose and that it's a sign of enjoying your food. If I had to live there I would become a serial killer. No question about it

nope. Well, none so far...was about 3 months ago that I used it. You could try the 4lo for several miles first and see, I just did both because I figured my monitors weren't setting due to the aftermarket cats I have being near the end of their lifespan. Supposedly the Cataclean works to clean them up a bit. Worst case I'll need a new rear O2 down the line I guess, but I was getting real close to deadline to register and needed to get smogged asap.

We have something like that in the Ozarks. You would think this would be somewhere in California. This one is more like a kibbutz. We do have a kibbutz in Little Rock that is a group of houses in the historical section.

I dunno if that's the kind of camp he was referring to lol. But those kinds of live/work collectives are common in CA

as for the other kind of camp, we had one of those too unfortunately. Manzanar was a WWII Japanese internment camp near Bishop, CA. Its torn down now but you can view the site where it stood. I've driven by it quite a bit going toward Mammoth

Yeah that's how mine was. All systems go except the cats. At 500 miles it might just be that you haven't hit all the protocols for setting it yet, there are pretty specific but most people tend to hit them by a few hundred miles.

The FSM procedure calls for a cold start, fuel tank between 1/4 - 3/4 full, open/close the gas cap then start the engine and let it warm up to operating temp. Then hold the RPMs at 3k for 10 seconds. That is supposed to set the monitors but I tried that a dozen times to no avail

The events of this week have definitely been eye opening for me. Its crazy that in 2022 people are still fighting wars over the same reasons they did back in the middle ages.
