    I had to cut 1/4" or so off the centering pin on the leaf pack.

    You may want to pick up a new centering pin...I had to notch the pin when I removed it most recently because it was pretty crusty. I made two cuts on the round end so I could hold it with channel locks so it didn't spin on me.

    I removed the 3rd leaf on my OME Dakar mediums and it greatly improved the ride quality. I have no weight in the bed.

    I the heavy spring under deavers on my truck and they were super stiff for the first 1,000 miles but I have a bed cage & RTT on my truck so my rear is a 300-400 pounds over stock.

    I think you’ll be a lot happier with ride quality and height only your remove a leaf from those HD dakars. They’ll essentially be mediums after that. Good luck! Let us know how it goes OP

    Make sure you grease up the leafs while they're apart!! Mine got bad squeaks after a year or so. When i was removing the third leaf, I used super grease on all the yellow pucks, and caliper grease every where one leaf touched another. Super quiet since

    I mean even stock fits 285s in the back....


    I wouldnt dare take the 3rd leaf out of my medium pack... its already pretty flat/weak as is.

    Top of axle tube to bottom of frame rail is 8.25" stock and is the easiest way to remove all other variables to figure out your height.

    I will say that I absolutely love my Icon RXT leafs if you're ok sitting a little lower. They're meant to not provide too much lift and generally be softer/lower spring rate. Since I just removed my RTT I'm sitting right about 2" of lift on option 2.

    Goddamn dude, that's so incredibly high. Def pull a leaf and you could even pull one of the overload leafs if you wanted, that's what I did when I still had dakars.

    When you have custom fenders, the way to measure and compare lift is top of axle to frame distance.

    Edit to add I guess I wasn't the first to suggest that. Pretty common way on older vehicles that have been customized alot.
