It's also the earliest form of government, control of people is important and one that strikes fear like religion was powerful for large unconnected regions in ancient history

Just looking at timelines and considering a generation of people happens in 40 years, roughly every 2 generations (80 years) another big one will occur. Or maybe every 40 years. I guess that is the amount of time that spans when people completely forget the lessons that should have been learned from the last one.

I thought I might be able to slide through this life without having to be around for a big one.. But the prospect is not looking so good right now.

I know that I'm old, but I'm no different than I was when I was only 23yo in my mind.

I have to take a lot of his advice with a grain of salt.

My brother and his wife got married by a friend of theirs that got ordained through something like that. They just wanted him to do their wedding kind of as a joke so he went through one of those easy processes where you just pay a fee to some whacky church and became a legal officiant lol.
