Truck looks great… love those skinny’s! The way a truck should look. Even like your rim choice. Glad to hear your happy w/ the ride. Should do great in the snow.

What was done to your truck as far as lifting etc? Thanks!

Thanks Tom! I'm running the Old Man Emu 2.5" lift kit with the nitro charger shocks, rides great.

Appreciate it! The wheels are some weird 'Chevy rallye" style wheels 16x7+0 I picked up for cheap. Can't run them without a 1.25" spacer but I dig the look.

    Just the basics
I'm not running spacers but I do rub a little on the plastic at full turn.

Impressions on the Toyo AT III 235/85R16 (10-ply / E load) in the snow is they're great!

I ran over 9 mountain passes over the past 3 days and did almost 500 miles, completely snow covered, and had 0 issues to speak of.

1 5/8” lift. Toytec Boss c/o front, Wheeler HD rear springs and Bilstein 5100 rear. BFG KO2s 235/85r16 on stock wheels. Second set of “skinnys”. Still plenty of tread left on first set, but they were 11 years old. My granddaughter is taking this Tacoma, so I thought I’d best get her some new tires.
Currently making plans to build my 2015 Taco. Will be going to “skinnys” on it as well. I’ve used “skinnys” since the early 1970s. They have served me well in Colorado.

Everyone seems to be a fan of the skinny tires.. picking mine up tomorrow and curious how I'll like them. Didn't like the weight penalty on 255/85/16's so stuck with 235/85/16 KO2's. Coming from a 265/75/16

got them on and a fan. They don’t look that much skinnier & all shiny and new looking. Excited to try them out and get them dirty. Seems the edge of the wheel is more exposed to rocks now? Would that be a problem if I went back to a different tire size? Can see these taking a bit more abuse now and wondering how that’ll go.

Sprouty115, I used the same truck you posted first as my inspiration as well! I was afraid to go with the white steelies even tho I like the way they look. They look great on your truck. Here they are on my rig but with the steelies powder coated silver.20180422_131731.jpg 20220222_163347.jpg

What do you think about the siping? I have 265/70r16 duratracs currently thinking about getting them in 235/85r16's next. I haven't thought about siping much.

I've been getting it done for years, probably my third or fourth set.

I work in the bush and run the same tires year round. This time of year, one day could be a sheet of ice and tomorrow in in mud to the lug nuts.

If I was on pavement most of the time, I'd probably run a dedicated winter tire.

Mine are good on the ice, but not as good as the blizzaks on my wife's Rav

Yea, where I live, dedicated snows don't make a lot of sense. Especially on a 2nd vehicle. I'm already in a spot where I'm worried about a single set of tires aging out of service before they're worn out let alone 2 sets. That's the biggest attraction to the duratracs. One tire for everything.

have you noticed any downsides with the siping?
