i have had several sets of Nokian Winter tires (current one is the studded version on the wife’s 4Runner), will only use them on my vehicles when it comes to winter tires. Can’t beat the performance and the price on them

Very nice! I went P-Rated R3 SUV non-studded since I couldn’t make a solid case for studded where I am, but I am quite pleased. I wish they made the P-rated in a 16” as I’d like to consolidate wheel sets, but for the next 6-7 years I’m set.

so studs was probably overkill for us, but the runner is unstoppable in the snow (2nd winter on this set). The most impressive thing to me about Nokian studs is that even with all of the dry highway driving on them (multiple trips back and forth to MI 70+mph) we haven’t lost a stud and none of them are worn down and actually match the tread wear.
now I’m not sure if I’ll buy studs on the next set, but honestly they somehow figured out how to make studs last on dry pavement as well. We have the Nordman SUV 7s (also ran the 5s) basically it’s just the previous seasons “premium” grade Hapaliks.

I have a picture somewhere, I think I posted it here in the past, I came out one day and noticed - wait a minute, that slider scuff isn't trail rash .... oh wait, that's someone who hit me in a parking lot. Bro mine are bolted to the frame and rattle can bed linered. It took me 4 seconds and they're good as new. Hope your bumper damage was fun to deal with after you took off

That's why I don't use a tailgate pad for my bike. But, I may have to depending how the course of what I want to do and what the bed looks like goes for this year :| but all they do is typically scratch your paint. That said, my paint is smoked from the trails anyway so what do I care.

I have just below inspection limits stock tires. Handled my morning just fine :notsure: but I was on 30s through a city, the roads were dog shit though.

Commute home will not be fun. I am planning which roads to take based on which ones will be clearest of snow and people. Might be able to bail at 4 and miss the 5 PM sun-down and rush hour at least.

So many people park way too close to me in lots, I mean it's your door at the end of the day I do way worse to these sliders :notsure:

With wet crap like this, i spray the inside with PB Blaster, nothing gets clogged. Don`t worry though, i use the environmentally friendly water based stuff.

I’ve used Pam and silicone wd40, Ariens makes their own coating but I haven’t tried it yet as it has to cure between coats.

Fluidfilm works good too, if you have some available.

We had about 2 inches of snow in SE CT before it turned over to rain...which caused it to compress to about 1 inch of heavy wet slushy stuff...went out after lunch and pushed it off the driveway with a shovel (minimal lifting)...the afternoon temperatures went up to about 40°F and cleaned off the thin film of snow that was left following the driveway clearing...supposed to go down to the teens tonight.

    Be safe out there!!

We had 7" here at around noon and I cleared it then. We've had a few periods of snow since so maybe up to 9" now. I'm not sure if I want to go back out to clean it up tonight or just wait until tomorrow.

I've tried spraying the snow blower but there is nothing that will last. Snow is so abrasive it rips off anything within a few minutes. That being said I use silicone spray, free from work, at least there is no residue. Recently saw it for sale at Toyota parts counter also.

Nothing is permanent but I saw one guy who took strips cut from a child's sled and rivited them to the inside of the chute. I've never tried it myself but it should work pretty well too and new strips are easily obtained when it does eventually wear through.

Oil sprayer and a big ol jug of vegetable oil. It won't last forever but it'll help.

I didn't even bother shoveling. I tried. Shits heavy. Moved some away from the sides of the drive and told my wife to back in so she gets out into a cleared bit. I'll let mother nature melt it.

I cleaned up the entire driveway after getting home from my adventure. The driving sucked today! Why does Massachusetts shut down the road to plow? They all line up and make it so you can't pass. Miles and miles at 10-15 mph kills me when I'm driving for work!

Hmmm not a bad idea. Usually doesn't happen, mine cuts through the stuff pretty fast but next time I gonna try the PB.

Not ideal for your profession, but man..a few years ago I was heading to Worcester for a Queensryche show in a blizzard. Usually an hour and 15 minutes which became double that. That said, driving a small car (as the wheelman) wasn't so bad once I got behind the line of plows, 30 was about the top speed i was gonna hit anyway and at least then I had a clean road.

They do the same in CT & NY. On account of ill equipped (in both driving ability & vehicle capability) morons who historically passed the plow trucks only to get stuck in the unplowed drifts. Bringing plowing to a complete halt until they could remove the stuck mofos. So although it's frustrating it could be worse.

I posted above re my Queensryche experience. I recall a couple of fools passing the trucks and thinking "why?" Sure enough, one went off the road a little way down
