    Or get a new tire?

    Big gash in sidewall.

Looks like a good temporary fix to get you to the tire shop. Buy a new tire.

Lives are worth more than a stinkin" damaged tire. I wouldn't even save that for a spare.

if it was me, i wouldnt use it at all. If you use it as a spare and it blows out while going 40MPH you could hurt yourself or others. just my .02

@jardoo, tire is dead. It is not worth saving as a spare. Sidewall flex will eventually cause the repair to fail.

Y’all are right. I’ll by a new tire. Guess I’ll trash it or turn it into some kind of toy for my niece.

IMO I wouldn't run a tire with a sidewall repair and I wouldn't even use it as a spare.

I’m surprised you found a shop that would try to fix something like that.

Haha! That tire should never have been fixed. I can't believe the shop did that. Huge liability if you die in a blow out accident! Don't be the one on the news man!

Yeah, i would too cause they cost more than most nice car payments. The standard issue $150 radial is getting swapped out on the old daily driver.

Whoever fixed that tire should hand in their tools and find another profession.

Was the manager on site when that patch happened? I guarantee that if it was at a mavis, tire rack or some chain place like that you could call and say that you are not driving the truck after advice from everyone in your life and you want them to make it right. They will give you a free tire just to keep that patch off the internet.

This right here. The guy that fixed it is beyond an idiot. Wouldn’t drive on even to get to the tire store. Put the spare on and get a new tire. But hey it’s your life.

Nope. It needs to be ground up and used for somebody's septic system or road repair. Lots of uses for old or damaged tires these days.
