    great truck. looks great.
people who say the turbos will stress the engine or the turbos will fail just need to look at all the diesel trucks that have been on the market for ages. Or look at the ford 2.7 and 3.5 engines. Honda 1.5 and 2.0 engines. all turbo and they last a very long time.

only issue i see with this truck, is the dealers. charging way over msrp.

Custom sliders (1.75" HREW tube w/ 3/16" base plates). Custom front bumper and high clearance rear bumper (1/4" steel plate, 1.75" tube.) Apex 5500 winch w/synthetic line (36lbs) and required accessories for an underpowered winch (snatch blocks and extra line.) Tekonsha P3 brake controller, remote start, any-time-backup camera w/ front facing camera, Leer 100R shell (w/e-track single slot tie-down mounts for removable Yakima EasyTop.) Cat shields by CaliRaised. Husky liners, window tint, heated seat (passenger only.) Relentless bed rail brackets with QuickFists (shovel/axe/fire extinguisher.) Hondo Garage Un-holey vent mount. Anytime rear with front facing camera. Billet front seat risers. Viair 88p. 265/75r16 Goodyear Ultra-terrain tires.
So the 4th gen Tacoma will have to contend with the Ranger Raptor. I think there have been rumors of an inline 4 turbo. Is Toyota going to dig deep and give us a new solid contender or are they going to phone in it like they did with the 4 cylinder Supra and stick a BMW B48 in there? I'm hoping for the former.. something like a big 2.8 inline 4 with all forged internals that'll support turning up the boost. ...or perhaps simply re-use the Tundra 3.5 TT engine! (I know, I know.. it ain't happenin')

My wife has a 2016 Ford Edge and she’s had no issues with it. We’ve had various Fords over the years and have had no issues. My Tacoma is going on 9 years and it’s been great as well.

I'll take my beat to hell, 300k mile 2nd gen which continues to appreciate in value no matter how many time I redline it, thank you very much.
In all seriousness, I agree with you. Ford is on their game recently with the new raptor ranger and bronco, Toyota had better pay attention.

If its got the bronco MT, definitely game over for me and Tacoma. If it doesn't have 3 pedals, not interested. Literally can buy any number of vehicles if I was the target demographic for a slushbox.

Choice? Because one is a Ford and the other is a Toyota!

So tired of the People’s Republic of Ford. They’ll never get their loser proto-socialist robot workers to control the means of Raptor production.

All I see is another status-mobile I'm going to have to compete with for parking at my local ski hill.

We'll see how many of these things are still on the road in 15-20 years.

Toyota does, just not available in the States…you can have it, just gotta move.

Used to think like you, but after having it now for a couple months it comes in super handy for keeping an eye on traffic, have 5-6 different ways I can commute to work, use it to see which way is the best.

As for the Pro vs Raptor…don’t care, view those as a “bro look at me” vehicles, far better choices out there if you want to have fun off-road and will out perform them. Like SXS, dirt bikes, quads, etc. I am only interested in a decent reliable hauler. The factory pimped out rides are rather silly to me. Would be nice if Toyota offered bare bones Tacoma that was geared more towards work than play, offered a nice torquey Diesel engine with manual trans, or at least bring the 70 series here, but that will never happen. A SR with weather tech floor mats and vinyl seat covers is about the closest I am going to get. Can’t even get a manny trans in the SR which is kinda bullshit.

The newer generation Rangers have better reliability ratings than 3rd gen tacomas thus far. See no reason for that trend to change here.

the 3rd gen offers very little in the way of explanation for the pricing - especially the current pricing - of the TRD pro trim level. You can spend $15,000 less on a TRD sport and all you missed out on was a 1" lift and a rear locker.

the TRD pro should have come stock with a supercharger. it doesn't. So now, it is vastly behind this new ranger raptor, which will be in a class all its own, and will experience insane sales, especially with the new facelift.

I like what they have done with the Ranger Raptor. Looks great. If it can be reliable, done deal.
