Favorite Whiskey?

Freezing rain here in Delco.

 

My thoughts exactly. A little too “sharp” to drink by itself normally, but I think they’re onto something and it’ll be really good as the distillery matures.

 

Tonight’s drinks.

 

I love Smooth Ambler. I did a (generous) tasting at their distillery last weekend. We sampled every bottle they produce as well as two different bourbon chocolates. They do it right, as well as any distillery I’ve been to. It’s a must stop if you’re ever in the area. Good stuff.

 

Heard good things about Nulu, hard to find here in California

how do you like the whskey?

 

BT, Taylor, Eagle, Stagg with ice.
Jeffersons and 4 Roses mixed with cream soda or coke. Too harsh to be sipping by thrmselves.
Have not tried Bulliet yet. For $60 it better be better than a $40 Small Batch Taylor

Buffalo Trace is my favorite so far.

1.75L is a better deal than .75L. $49 vs $25 in my neck of the woods. It's like getting 1/4L for free!!!
I need to stock up on them.

hmmmm…. Favorite… I’ve been enjoying John J Bowman lately, I always drink Eagle Rare, but as of the last 6 months here it’s been getting very hard to find. Rare Breed Rye is a favorite as well.

 

It is interesting how localized distribution is. I have not seen Russell' here in a year. I can get Buffalo trace and Eagle Rare anytime I want to.

 

If you’re a Irish whiskey fan, then this is fabulous. If you’re not an Irish fan, then it’s still fabulous.

 

The 8 year is better, and it's about the only Irish I drink.
